Everything that glitters is not gold. Though this was a country song, it is also true in the spiritual realm. Just because a man might seem confident, eloquent, fluent in bible verse, seems solid in their denominational doctrine and to sum it all up ....... they can be extremely persuasive and convincing...... they can still be wrong. The new testament warns us over and over and over..... to NOT just take anyones teachings as TRUTH ( this includes pastor Bruce) without doing your homework by doing your own study of scripture to verify the accuracy of the pastors and leaders teachings. Sadly ( and this IS true). Most people do NOT know or regularly read, study or memorize their own bible and are completely unknowledgable about what it actually says or the contexts of any certain verses and they rely on the pastors and church leaders to tell them what to believe ..... and what is truth. As a result the biggest majority of men and women who truly believe they are heaven bound when they die will sadly find out that they are still as alienated from God as Charles Manson and will go to hell. They never were truly born again. They never started, nor developed a personal love relationship with a living Jesus Christ. The only thing they did was to become church attendees.
God does not accept or acknowledge our "interpretation" of His holy word. He will only acknowledge His interpretation. Remember that Satan knows and uses scripture all the time. Start with some truth, throw in a little tradition, church rituals with some time honored rituals like 3 fast songs, 2 slow, solemn songs and then tithes and offerings and voila ..... You have a Christian church service. This does not mean that God will accept it, just because all the leadership...
Read moreMy husband and I were happy to find a church that prioritized discipleship. We attended for the first time on Sunday, and tonight, Wednesday, 3/26/2025, was our last visit.
After leaving the adult class, I found my 5-year-old son crying in the kids’ hall—alone. I hugged him and asked where his teachers were. They were still inside the classroom with the other children. My heart dropped. How is it that I hadn’t even picked him up, yet he had already been dismissed?
If someone had taken him, I would have left him in the care of people I thought I could trust—my most precious gift. And yet, when they asked if we’d be back, I couldn’t help but think: Why? You haven’t shown that I can trust you. You weren’t even looking for him when he was gone.
I truly believed this church could have been a great fit for our family. But maybe my son wasn’t important enough to be watched. Maybe it was negligence, or maybe no one is trained to properly care for the children. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that to them, he was just another number. Like too many other churches, they valued attendance over the people walking through their doors. Just another number, instead...
Read moreMy family and I visited this church for worship one Sunday morning recently while we were visiting Tucson. The worship time and the preaching were great. The pastor is a great speaker. The pastor's wife also shared some authentic testimony from her life. It was great to hear how God revealed Himself to her, and it's always great to understand how people come to relationship with Him. She also made some announcements, and it seems like this church has lots of different ministries going on. Keep up the good work brothers...
