I'm like four months late with this review but Lemon Creek left such an impact on me that I still remember the day very vividly.
It was the end of September and me and my girlfriend was coming home from an event in Detroit. On the drive home, my girl was like "all these wineries along here, we should stop at one." I was like "okay, the next one we come up to, we'll stop there." We seen the sign for Lemon Creek Winery coming up soon and decided that would be our stop. It is a bit of a drive from the highway. It's about 10 minutes away but well worth the stop.
When we arrived, we had a little more than an hour before they closed. We thought they would rush us out but they were actually very welcoming and told us to come on in. Our sommelier was lovely. I can't remember her name for the life of me because I was toasty after the tasting. (It don't take much for me) I do remember she was very knowledgeable about the wines, the different fruits used in them, their harvest times, ratings, etc. I mean we had a great conversation about wine. She even joined us for one of the tasting because she said she had yet to try it. Another couple on their way to Illinois sat beside us and we conversed with them over some really good wine.
The place was great and had a really nice ambience. Very cozy and welcoming. Even the patrons were friendly to one another. I must say, the price for the flights were great too! I think the 1st round of flights were $8 and the 2nd round was $5 (which is why we keep drinking). We even bought a souvenir glass to commemorate our stop. I really enjoyed this place and will...
Read moreIt saddens me to have to write this... we have been going to lemon Creek winery for years. Not only wine tasting but also peach picking as well as apple picking always had an amazing experience until yesterday when we were treated and humiliated in a way that I have never experienced in my entire life. We were harassed by one of the employees screaming, cursing at my 14 year old for hitting a rotten apple that was on the dirt. He demanded my son to pick up the rotten apple and yelling that he had to pay for it again cursing at him. followed us (on his tractor)assuming that we had not paid for the merchandise (apples and a basket) when I asked him Why he almost ran over us (myself, my friend an autistic boy and two girls) he said he wanted to make sure we paid for the merchandise I immediately took out the receipt and showed him . He didn't know what to say. Kept screaming at us. Telling us to get off his property. This all happened in front on autistic child and two little girls they were confused and scared. I'm pretty sure this was racial discrimination we're Hispanic, there were other families (white)still in the orchard and he had no issue with them only with us. To be clear my son never hit an apple from the tree I would never justify it if he was being disrespectful or...
Read moreI drive out 2 hours every year with my family because we love the wine from Lemon Creek Winery❤️ Stopped by today to enjoy the day, have some wine, and purchase some wine but, unfortunately there was a very rude manager on duty. Since the moment we arrived she had an attitude with us. There is a way to treat customers and her way and attitude was definitely not it. What really bothered me about it all was that it was 3min past their closing time and they refused to sell US 3 boxes of wine. We sticked around and saw a lady that came in after us able to purchase a whole box of bottles. I really dont know what her deal was with us but that lady should not be manager at Lemon Creek Winery in a place where we usually have a great experience with great staff. I even asked to get the owners number and she refused to give it to me so I had no choice but to take a picture. Very disappointed. IDs were provided to staff member when asked which is why we were able to purchase wine while being there. We were not able to purchase wine bottles to go. While others that came in after us were able...
