Great place to walk around and enjoy some nature. The boardwalk is well maintained and sturdy and is pretty clear when you can step off and walk around in the woods. Lots of beautiful scenery to look at and water to slip rocks.
I think I saw handicap parking but if you're in a wheelchair there's not much to do here. We tried taking grandma down a wide, manicured path but it was buckets blocked off.

Read moreThis is one workout, going back up is a workout. Don't go to fast. The best part is when you approach the stairs you can hear the falls. Best to see after a good rain or misty rain day. The water comes down the side of the hill. You get down to the bottom and walk out to other areas by the lake to look out at beautiful nature. One of the most peaceful places I have ever visited and worth the hundreds of steeps. I highly recommend if you have breathing or heart issues, be very careful...
Read moreIf you're in the Tawas/Oscoda area I highly recommend a stop at Iargo Springs located on the River Road Scenic Byway. There's a 300 step stairway leading down to the springs and some nice views of the Au Sable River from a couple of observation decks. The climb back up is made a bit easier with benches placed at various levels.
