This is at Whittman Field (Airport l) in Oshkosh WI, South of the City, easy freeway access. If traveling through plan to go to EAA Museum open year round. The Gateway is not the main attraction. The annual wk long convention / airshow and EAA Museum (open year round) are the two features going through the EAA gateway.
Typically around late July EAA Experimental Aircraft Association has AIRVENTURE a massive celebration of aviation over a whole week, running Mon thru Sun wherr 600,000 will visit over that werk.
Airventure for one full week will have 1000's of planes come, including WWII Millitaty, Antiques from the 1930's to present most modern production and kit aircraft (Experimental Amateur Built). Current Millitaty planes will be on display and do flight demonstrations.

All of the vendors we went to were super helpful and informative. Thank you to EAA and the vendors. In the future, it would be helpful to have more ground signage for buildings. Read moreVisited for EAA Airventure. It never disappoints. Always a great day. There is plenty to do, see, and learn. Even better, kids get in free! The airshow is great and runs all day. The only drawback is parking. Get parking online, and save $10.00/day. It can take over an hour to exit after the night airshow.
Even with the parking issues, it is worth it. Great value, good times.
