Ace Audio installed a complete audio system (front dash speakers, kick panels & speakers, rear deck speakers, head unit, subwoofer, and alarm) in my classic car spring of last year. All the products, such as the DD speakers, were highly recommended by the shop owner Jon. Jon convinced me that his in house equipment was top of the line and provided the best warranty available. Fast forward, I started to experience issues with my music shutting on and off, and the subwoofer sometimes not working a couple of months after the initial install (keep in mind this is a classic car that sits 95% of the year). I made several calls to the shop to schedule a date/time to bring my vehicle back within a 6-month time-frame but consistently got the runaround. I was finally able to get an appointment this (5/18/20) week. Upon arrival (5/18/20)I waited in the lobby an hour in half until someone finally came to look at my vehicle. I clearly explained the issues that I was experiencing with the music shutting off, and the worker immediately became very defensive stating "it must be something wrong with your Bluetooth connection on your phone." The worker hooked his phone up to my radio and the music continued to shut off. He finally pulled the vehicle in after 20 minutes of wasting time and trying to blame my phone for the issue. There were 3 guys in the shop troubleshooting my vehicle including the owner (Jon). After 0 communication, an hour later the guy pulled my vehicle out and started making accusations about how all my settings were turned up to the max, and as a result I blew my passenger side dash speaker. Anyone who has ever owned a radio knows that If you turn the settings or even the volume to the max, the music will sound distorted and staticky. I was told that I would receive a call the next day (5/19/20) so that they could check with the manufacturer about getting my speaker re-coned or either ordering a replacement. Considering I made several attempts to get my vehicle to the shop when the issue initially started months ago, I was under the impression that I would be covered with my "so-called" warranty but instead, I was greeted with vilification. Of course, I didn't receive a follow-up call the next day (5/19/20) and when I called the shop (5/19/20) I was told that Jon would call me back. After not receiving a callback, I called the shop (5/20/20) to get an update and was greeted by (Bradyn) with extreme insolence. Considering that I have a very calm, cool, and collected demeanor, I'm not sure why this guy had it out for me, but his tone and delivery were very condescending. Bradyn stated that "you blew your damn speaker by turning all the settings up to the max so you gotta pay us for a set of new dash speakers because they only come as a set along with 2 hours labor." After not coming to any kind of resolution I asked to speak to Jon and was told "he's gonna tell you the same thing, you shouldn't have blown your speaker." Jon (owner) got on the phone and instead of being apologetic for his employee's rude and obnoxious attitude. Jon continued to be confrontational by raising his voice and being dismissive, all while continuing to denounce my reasonable request. Jon appears to be very delusional because he (went left field) alluded to the fact that we had an altercation in the past at his old shop (delusional), which I thought was another weird and bizarre accusation, considering I've never met or interacted with this man ever in my life prior to this install. 🙄 Furthermore, why would I do business with someone who I've had an altercation with in the past (insane)? This situation could have been handled and resolved professionally without arising to this level of pettiness, vulgar language, and bogus accusations. I strongly feel that I was being reasonable and fair by suggesting that they cover the (1) blown speaker (under warranty) which was roughly $75 bucks and I cover the (2) hours labor. I'm a firm believer in core ethics and integrity but unfortunately, every man doesn't carry...
Read moreI have spent over $600 with this shop over the last 30 days having two front components installed and a customer supplied sub and amp kit installed. I came here for their quality work and live over an hour away.
When I came in to get the front speakers installed (I had an appointment) and had to wait on the install. It took over 6 hours for the two components. I was there until closing. After the tech finished, he told me that due to the new speakers and sound ring, the door panel did not sit flush at the bottom, and that he drilled two screws into my metal door to get the panel back on. I told him it was okay since the car was a 2013 and I bought it used.
The problem started when I noticed the passenger door speaker has a noticeable plastic rattle on certain songs. The shop claims to have a lifetime warranty on labor. Spencer told me it was probably because my Factory Equalizer was two clicks above the middle on the bass and mid setting. I proceeded to let it go.
Today after my amp was installed along with the sub, as I’m driving home the passenger rattle is louder. I called back and told Spencer that I wanted them to diagnose the rattle, he then mentions, his tech told him something about it today and thought it was maybe the window tract. The tech did not even have the door panel off today, so more or less a guess.
When asking him to get me in, he proceeds to tell me I needed to leave a Third $100 deposit on the diagnosing and fixing of the rattle. He proceeds to tell me that they will charge me to deaden the door “until Im satisfied” in an extremely rude manner. I explained I shouldn’t have to leave another deposit to have them stand by their lifetime labor warranty. We start arguing and I say I’d like to speak to the owner. Apparently, he is the owner and has been for 15 years.
After feeling defeated and arguing, I ultimately hung up without resolution. $600 later to be treated rudely....
Read moreFirst time as a consumer visiting Audio Ace and without a doubt one of the most reliable in audio and installation. I purchased a Pioneer AVH-X4800BS audio receiver after speaking with Audio Ace to replace my previous Pioneer AVH-X2800BS installed from the time I had purchased my 2016 TC Scion in November 2016. My receiver was no longer playing CDs/DVDs and repeatedly giving me an error message while also heavily scratching a few of the discs in the process, which still do play fine in my new system. My system had shut down last Monday with a last attempt of playing audio CDs, while the Radio and Bluetooth were only serviceable at the time. Unfortunately, one of my CDs got stuck in the receiver, and I was unable to retrieve until I had my new Pioneer receiver installed on Friday. Spencer and the staff at Audio Ace did an outstanding job, and I highly recommend them to anyone as a first - or second time audio buyer or just looking for advice on how to set up their car audio. I was thinking I would have to get a whole new set up here since I previously had a system installed already. However, not the case here. Just a simple swap of one unit to the other within 45 minutes from the time the car was dropped off and the sytem sounds incredibly amazing and I was able to keep the same dual Pioneer sub in the back of my trunk along with the amp and other accessories including the wiring harness and Bluetooth microphone from my previous installation to save me big. For less than $300 altogether, including my new Pioneer audio receiver and installation, I obviously made the right choice, and I could not be any happier. I will definitely do business with these guys in the near future, and you should definitely check them out if you haven't already....
