Metro Pawn — Attraction in Overland

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!ECSPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE NICE STUFF, DO NOT. THEY CAN'T WAIT TO MELT IT DOWN*I was referred to this place during a time of need. They were happy to help me with my big ticket items even though I knew I could have gotten a little more than what they gave, but I was happy they could help me out in my time of need. I AM NOT HAPPY about the way they handle business however. I went into the hospital to have my baby and we both had complications. I had made payments on my loans but not for a few months during this time. I went in today and was told my things were melted down due to people not buying heavy jewelry that is worth some money (like mine that I pawned). Yes, I know as the person pawning their items, you have a responsibility as far as your items go. However, METRO PAWN should at least HAVE THE DECENCY to call and inform someone they are about to loose their very nice items before they melt them down, and give them the chance to come in and get their stuff out or at least bring them current. Something may have just seriously came up like in my case where health was the priority at the time. By not receiving a call, I fell like the owner of Metro Pawn just seen dollar signs because he knew my things were worth more than what he gave me for them. He has plenty of old a$$ coats and things that you can tell he has had for years, but he quickly got rid of my high price items. I should have followed my first mind and went back to where I normally go, Lee's Pawn or Easton Loan on MLK in the city. At least my stuff would have been in the jewelry case where I could have purchased it back. I hate I cheated on them. I will NEVER go back here again. I will continue to do my business with the shops in the city. I know that bills have to be paid, but if your that desperate for money, maybe you should choose a different profession. You lost a great customer and I will be sure to tell everyone I know...

Drove up from Arnold Missouri to sell some scrap gold and some silver coins and few miscellaneous coins. The three guys working were very very kind and also kind and understanding to my crying kid! I ended up keeping my coins to hold onto for future reasons only being because they offered me such a great price for my few gold pieces! They are honest, friendly and clearly know how to keep good business going! Came here only based off reading reviews and getting a low price from another place south of where I live. Let me tell you as far as the good reviews you see this place is great and the staff is over the top thank you very much guys and I will definitely be back whether it's selling or buying. Anybody at all looking to sell gold or silver jewelry or coins you need to bring it here!
