Joe Ford Nature Center — Attraction in Owensboro

A very nice nature center and forest trails. We were in town for the geocaching event and enjoyed finding the geocache here as well as the adventure lab on the trails.

The director Dennis was very friendly and welcoming to everyone. There are lots of hands-on exhibits inside. It is best to visit during the limited open hours but you can stroll the trails any time.

There are continual improvements in progress including a monarch butterfly waystation.

Nice trails here to walk. There are quite a few different species of birds here. There are exercise stations along the paths. The only thing I would like to see improved would be the surface of the trails. This time of year they are a muddy mess. If more of the trails were to be covered in crushed rock or crushed asphalt like the rest...
