Oxford Furnace Lake — Attraction in Oxford Township

A beautiful little lake in the sleepy town of Oxford. I grew up just down the street from this lake and have seen it come a very long way over the years. It is a safe environment with a lot to offer- everything from a sandy beach area with lifeguards for swimming, clean bathrooms with changing area, a snack bar with freshly cooked food and ice cream offerings, paddle board and kayak rentals that make it easy to just get right in the water, a butterfly garden, walking trails, soccer fields, boat launch with a floating dock next to it as well as a raised fishing dock. There are also many native plants growing around the lake including a plethora of common milkweed around the soccer fields. Plenty of parking and public BBQ grills are also available. Endless possibilities for family fun at the Oxford Furnace Lake with continuous improvements...

I use to go there everyday as a kid 17 years it's been now it was a beautiful place with a great family environment so much has changed it's shrank up alot and no more jungle gym or the path out to the creek but now it does have a all island on left side aka fishing spot also still available for rental at pavilion on site bathroom large walking and socker area and it's still beautiful spot tho and nice docks also for boating and grilling areas the beach isn't as peaceful and clean as used to be from the good old days when Barb ran it but still a place good for a afternoon out with family don't worry about parking it has plenty never been there at least try fishing or swimming one time then you can decide for yourself but I do still...

Nice, quiet, family friendly spot! Perfect for younger kids. No loud music or partying which allows for true relaxation. Paddle boards available for rent too! Prices are reasonable for entry and the food stand has yummy options. I take one star off because the food stand service does need a little help to make sure they keep orders organized. Twice now orders were given to someone else and had to wait twice as long- about an hour. With a little bit of organization this could be a non-issue.
