On today I went to the lake to take my nephew on his first fishing trip. Unfortunately that wasn't all we go. My name in Jamal Marquez Anderson, and I am an Air Force Veteran and respect everyman. Today i experience the most passive and cowardly example of racism I had ever seen in my 30 years of living here. I walk in with my weapon a 1911, i am fully legal to carry this weapon btw and had already read the bylaws that didn't restrict me from having my weapon. I and other than the front associate ,every one else looked at me as if i was a criminal and shouldn't be able to have a weapon. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. m we left as quickly as we came and i then called the Game Warden myself to come down and inform the guys there thatI was completely legal and had my permit and every right to carry. as i waited for him, i cracked the door and one of the associates then said thinking i couldn't hear, but i had cracked the door because i knew they would say something about me and then lie like cowards.Someone said , because when I went back the friendly guy wouldn't tell me who, that he wasn't worried about the gun but he was more worried about the fact that i had and was able to carry a weapon and didn't think i could carry legally. Due to my look. I have been fishing there all my life and I have never been treated like this, I told the game warden i was extremely uncomfortable.n Also everybody that was . in the are when we pulled up to fish, left like a plague. Ozark, I am lost for words, but this is the south and thats how it is. But I must let my fellow brothers know what I experienced and because of their actions toward people of color is the exact reason I carry to protect myself and family. This was an eye opener I wish I had missed. The Game Warden was the most professional man I have ever met, he then said he is sure the every person that walk that trail has a weapon, but as long as they aren't causing problems they can have them. I was not causing not a single problem with my nephew trying to fish. The most disturbing remark I heard was one of the judgmental gents say if one of them(them who?) shoot me, I am taking them with me. Why would anybody say that about another person, but he didn't know I had the door cracked to hear it all. Again people who make remarks like that is this reason i a law abiding citizen whom just so happens to Afroamerican carry a weapon. But nobody would tell me who said it. So nothing will be done. #storyofourlives T 5/23/2019 i am 5'11 tattooed and dreaded, they treated my as if i was a criminal due to my looks. i would like to inform them if threy read this i am the proud owner of not 2 but e Degreees.
