I have to come over half an hour all the way from Enterprise, but we don't have anything like this, so it is our very favorite place to hike! The trail is right at 5k so it's a perfect place for a nice jog or to train for an event. I always take my 2 pups, and they absolutely adore it. The seclusion among the beautiful trees, all the bridges you have to cross (which broke my fur babies' fear after a couple times because they love it there so much) and how it opens up to finish the walk around a large beautiful lake with open space, several little piers and lookouts, and picnic area as well as bathrooms. Just like with Beagle Stadium, well done...

Love what they've done here. If you hadn't been in awhile,I recommend it. Beautiful, peaceful, clean, safe, four reasons to go.then there's the fishing you can rent a boat or bring yours, with bait ship and snacks that are as competively close to the price you'll pay at most convenient stores. or if you bring the family, there are plenty of places on shore most have picnic tables. There's a 3 mile trail around the lake with plenty of scenic spot along the trail either on there bridges that cross small inlets filled with fish and other water habituated wildlife, if you enjoy the outdoors this is a great spot close to the...

It's a beautiful lake. We wanted to use the walking trail but we were weirded out by the warning sign at the trailhead that said "walk in pairs or in groups." Then there was another sign that said "lock your belongings in the trunk." There's only one reason why you put a sign like that out: it's a high-crime area. (Although I can't be sure, because we're from out of town). I do appreciate the warning, but the crime and potential for being robbed or attacked took the enjoyment out of the visit. Needless to say, we opted not to...

You have to experience the outdoors to enjoy what this lake has to offer. My favorite of all is walking all of the different trails. The main trail is mostly paved and runs the perimeter of the lake. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try the hiking / biking trails. There are currently three of these trails, Blackhawk, Commanche, and Apache trails. They are less used and are a bit more challenging. They are not as groomed and are more natural. My favorite is the Apache Trail at just over two miles.

Had such a fantastic walk today! The trail is pretty long, a little over three miles to get back to the parking lot. It's very shaded which is perfect for the summer. It is mostly paved, some gravel and some wooden bridges. Careful though the bridges are a bit slippery when wet! The lake is beautiful and visible for most of the walk. There are plenty of ducks and geese to observe and some other wildlife. We will be back for sure. Definitely appreciate a good shaded trail here in the Alabama heat.
