All three star for the tour guide Bonnie, she was awesome and made sure we got all the good pictures and had a great time. If she was not there, I would have given just 1 star. And here is why - the tour we got didn't cover Upper Antelope Canyon! We booked a tour called "the gorgeous three" in advance from their website. Now this tour says it covers "all three" canyons "Rattlesnake, Owl and Little Upper Antelope Canyon". Now how someone who has never visited supposed to know that little Upper Antelope canyon is not the main one! Especially when you are buying the most expensive tour on their website and the package says "all three".
When I went to complain at the window, I said look at your own poster which says "all three", lady next to the lady I was talking to started arguing with me that it's my mistake because there are more than three canyon.
When said how am I supposed to know, look i am NOT asking for a refund, not asking you to give me anything just fix the description. She said - "you don't have to raise your voice"
That's when I realized that they are not interested in feedback and I left. Very disappointed that not only they have misleading description but also they are not open to feedback.
(Look at the poster, all the way to left top)
Update 1: The front desk lady Ms. Shelby called back to provide explanation and she agreed that I had a valid point. She also offered to book us for Upper Antelope Canyon tour for free next morning. But we are leaving the town so we couldn't do it.
If they update their website, I'll make this a four star review.
(Out of three Canyon we visited - rattlesnake was really beautiful, other two were good but not comparable to rattlesnake. The good thing is this tour was not crowded. But I guess when you visit to see Antelope canyon and you spend the money, you would want to see the main one. I would recommend them to create a tour of upper antelope+rattlesnake+owl, which will be totally worth it)
Update 2: Got the response from the business. Appreciate the sincerity! Changing the review to five star as I want to ensure sincere businesses get...
Read moreMy wife and I booked the Rattlesnake and Owl Slot Canyon tours hosted by Black Streak Canyon Tours near Page, Arizona.
Our tour guide, host and driver Michael Redshirt a Navajo native provided one of the most memorable experiences that my wife and I had during our tour of the American Southwest.
Micheal shared stories of native lore as well as history and the creation of the slot canyons, as well as all that this woman owned company Black Streak Canyon Tours has done and continues to do to protect the canyons as well as the animals that live there.
Our photos cannot do justice of this awe inspiring experience, we were totally in awe of the natural beauty of this special and enchanting space.
We were especially fortunate as it was the winter season, and we were the only ones on this tour.
Michael weaved stories of his youth growing up in a hogan, to his 13 years as a tour guide. He even aided us in taking our own photos, myself using an iPhone and my wife using an android and how we can take even beater photos, where to stand and even the special features of our cell phone cameras.
Our tour again was one of our best experiences on this trip to the American Southwest. We highly recommend that you book this tour yourself and to even ask for Michael. You’ll have an experience of a lifetime.
On our tour, Michael pointed out the spirits in the rock walls as well as showing us a nest of a pair of Great Horned Owls.
I’ve added a few photos which we took again the pictures cannot compare to seeing it yourself.
Thank you Black Streak Canyon Tours and Michael Redshirt our host...
Read moreWe did the Rattlesnake and Owl Canyon tour during Christmas 2024.
Good: • Good alternative to Antelop Canyon which is generally fully booked. • Features simple ladders, which the kids enjoyed climbing. • Operated by local Navajo who seem to be just starting out; it’s nice to support a family-run business. • The guide genuinely tried to enhance our experience by suggesting camera settings like “vivid warm” for better photos.
Bad: • Poor Infrastructure: The company is new, and it shows. We were asked to ride in the back of an open truck in the freezing cold on dusty, uneven roads. The kids were shivering, and it was uncomfortable. Almost all competitors offered closed, safer vans, which should be a basic standard. • Inconsistent Rules: We were told to leave behind our tripod and selfie sticks and were prohibited from capturing video. However, we saw other groups (from a different company and videos in this page too) using gimbals and selfie sticks freely to take videos. The rules felt arbitrary and unfair. If you’re serious about photography or video, avoid this company and choose one that allows accessories. I was particularly disappointed because I couldn’t use my Insta360 tripod, ruining my 360-degree pictures. • Not Worth the Price: The cost is (90$) comparable to or more than Antelope Canyon tours but falls short in terms of the experience and scenery. If you can book Antelope Canyon, do so—it’s far more impressive. This tour feels like a lesser, supplementary...
