Blanketed white all over, absolutely beautiful! Strongly recommend have all wheel drive or snow chains. 7 TRUCKS got stuck after being parked for a few hours. Bring a bag for all your trash, I was shocked at all the broken beer bottles, dirty baby diapers, food packaging and snow equipment packaging left at the parking area by snow goers', people can be filthy and disrespectful to our beautiful land and wild animals. Please be aware of your surroundings, take turns going down the slopes and be kind! When I went the other people about 75 to 100 strangers were all kind, patient and having great times but some were careless, such as drinking and driving, smoking (420) and driving without thinking about all the lives and children's lives that were also on the road with them. There were no snow plow vehicles, no emergency vehicles while on my visit but the roads were recently cleared from snow fall. The ski area was closed, no restrooms. Dress warmer then you think you need to, bring extra water. People do bring their dogs and they do let them off leash so be mindful of that if you're weary to off leash animals. Recommend highly to go very early in the morning or you'll have to park a mile or two down the way for the...

Beautiful place to spend with family. I came to the opinions to see if anyone says anything about a pass or cost that must be paid to access the place, since today (Feb/03/2024) I went with my family and there was a police patrol stationed at the roundabout asking for a "SKI PASS" and making anyone who did not have said pass turn around. This change upset me and caught my attention, since I was here in 2020 and it was totally free. I also now see in the opinions from 2 weeks ago people commenting on free access to the natural area. I am not opposed to the state or government charging a fee to access protected natural parks, but at least put signs and notices a few miles before so as not to make the trip in vain, it is a mountainous place and very dangerous to travel on its narrow roads. , sinuous, and on many occasions frozen. The reality is that any day now we will wake up in the morning and be surprised that we will also have to pay for the air we breathe.
Read moreIf you live in Vegas or your want a refreshing change of pace from the typical Vegas vacation, it is SO with the drive to go to Mt. Charleston. It's beautiful, smells good, and if you go on the summer you might get to see some of the wild horses that live there!!! There are quite a few places to stop, hiking trails, picnic spots, and campgrounds. It is about 30° cooler than the valley and is mountains terrain, so maybe bring a jacket depending on the time of year and leave the flip flops behind. It is so...
