2024 update, Castaways Point Park is still my favorite spot in Brevard for a picnic, a rocket launch viewing, a perfect relax & unwind place to commune with nature. An upgraded white sand beach is a lovely addition. Just watched the Delta IV Heavy rocket launch from here with many others choosing the park for viewing. An historical event, the Delta IV's last ever launch, retiring after many decades. Castaways Point Park is my favorite spot on the Indian River. Flora and fauna are ample and photogenic. If lucky, one might spot dolphins or manatees but sand cranes, pelicans and squirrels abound. Several piers here where you can fish, watch birds, boats or kayakers floating by. Picnic tables (some covered) and benches dot the park. A perfect spot to enjoy the Indian River lagoon.

Just across the water from the Atlantic Ocean and Indialantic Beach should you want to visit...

I used to go here for lunch with coworkers few years ago it was not a place to go alone really I thought but everyone said I was overreacting. They have fixed it up really nice but I still felt uncomfortable. A family was having a party for a child and I thought that was sweet but there's nothing for kids more for fishing off the deck. One guy had poles lined all over the one entire dock so I couldn't sit down with out being part of his gear. I made a phone call looked around and left n I didn't even try to check out the bathroom because it smelled just going past but I don't use public bathrooms as a rule unless it's an emergency. Dressed...

This is a nice park located just off of US-1 in Palm Bay. Although you are near the highway, you don't hear it. This park offers fantastic views of the Indian River (this salt water river is just over a mile wide here!) and a good number of picnic areas. It is also a favored spot for the locals to engage in shore fishing. The park is very wooded and is a good place to watch the local wildlife. Parking is good around a one-way loop road. The park is located near Castaways Point, for which it is named. Castaways Point Park is owned and managed by the Palm Bay Parks &...

Nice little park along the Indian River. There's a couple of pets where you can fish. The bathrooms were nice with running water. I noticed two issues. First it appeared that it attracts homeless people. I noticed someone had clothing hanging in the bathroom for some reason...? Also it might be due to the outlets in the park where the homeless can charge their cell phones. Also my husband and I found a bird that was tangled in a fisherman's fishing line. We were able to cut the line from his wings.

Nice park at river w/sandy areas & small pier for fishing, relaxing, actually saw a dolphin or manatee this past Sunday. There's also a concrete walking path. Covered pavilion area. Downfall is there are a few individuals that go there to smoke weed from their car or while walking, sign are up for no drug dealing, but not for using. Marijuana is the new cigarette for many. Our poor beaches & river environments suffer the consequences of the buds. πŸ™„πŸ˜Ÿ
