Some of you park goers may recognize me and many will not; I have been going to the Palm Bay Regional Dog Park for around 9 years now (Sky is now 9.5 years old and she started going there at 6 months old). This is as of 4-18-2024; it has two sides, one side for small dogs and one side for large dogs, the large dog side is much larger than any dog park I know of in Brevard County. The staff level is around 50% of what it needs to be at this time 4-18-2024 (per the Parks Manager); however (in my opinion) the staff is doing the best they can with what they have; want to complain then start emailing the politicians to make the change happen. It took 4 years to get water to the back, 4 years of contacting the politicians, it paid off in the end, there is a spigot in the back. SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THIS IS A DOG PARK AND THINGS CAN HAPPEN QUICKLY; SO PAY ATTENTION. This is more of a challenge then people realize; especially when dogs can move so much quicker than humans. Have there been dog “disagreements” at the park; yes there have and bad ones, no matter the size or breed, same goes for the humans (no matter the sex, race or culture). But all in all this is one of my and Sky’s favorite places to go in the morning to walk, stretch and relax; we have a morning “coffee club”...
Read moreI love that this dog park is very big and plenty of space for dogs to run around. However, this is the perfect place for owners to lose track of their dogs and bad situations to arise. I walked into this dog park with my 1.5 year old golden doodle. At the gate there was a small pitbull who was growling at my dog. No owner in sight. The dog did walk away so we (naively) assumed it’d be okay to walk in. The dog ran up to my dog and instantly started attacking him. We had to yank the dog off of ours and hold him in the air until the man came to get his dog. He didn’t apologize, ask if our dog was okay, or give us his information in case our dog was injured or anything. Thankfully he left and took his dog. It was a very unfortunate situation because our dog gets along great with others and we have never had an issue. Other people at the park said that his dog is consistently aggressive to others. If you’re going to bring your dog here, keep an eye out for an aggressive small black and white pitbull in the...
Read moreMy fiance and our dog, Atreyu, love coming here to the park on the large breed side. They have so much room to run off leash and interact with other dogs and make friends. Other owners are often chatting with one another, and there are things for the pups to interact with. Several watering holes are all around the area, along with 2 areas on opposite ends that have hoses, buckets, and a tub in just in case. There are also a couple of agility obstacles as well as benches or picnic tables and seating spread throughout. It's been a very pleasant and positive experience for Atreyu so far. I highly recommend bringing your...
