I've been coming to Lake Hemet since 1975. I've always found it to be a very beautiful place to camp. However the current management has raised the fees to an unfair amount at this point. The recently somewhat upgraded campground amenities come nowhere near justifying the price gouging taking place. These are just routine maintenance procedures that should have been taking place long before the place was allowed to become dilapidated. Drought conditions have taken a toll on the lake water level as well and there are no longer any campsites within a reasonable distance of the water. I am holding out hope conditions improve and at some point new management will rectify the unfair price gouging going on here but I am not...
Read moreI thought it was a nice place, employees were friendly. Unfortunately, water has been low the last couple years. Also, when we showed up on Fri. There was no one there. We thought we'd have the run of the place. Wish they would have warned us, that on Sat., 300 people would be arriving. Now, I have a good Mom that taught me how to share, but those 300 people didn't seem to want to share. So, no boats available to rent, and the wait to swim (in the only designated swim area) was hideous. They basic rotate people in and out every 20 minutes. Who only swims for 20 minutes? It takes 10 minutes just find a location, and set up your towels...
