Buffalo park is a lot of fun . They offer swimming at their little beach , and fishing in their large lake , (kids you might see Nemo ) and for a fun day on the lake they have paddle boats to rent for your enjoyment or bring your own boat or kayak, and if you like camping, or they even have Cabins or campers to rent . As you walk through you'll always see families biking with one another or stoping to see their little petting zoo which has some of the sweetest little animals. There's a little snack stand near the swimming area along with covered picnic areas which you can rent for an event or just enjoy when empty, if you have baseball on the brain there's a ball field to and you'll see churches which sometimes even meet with other churches there for Sunday services . Buffalo offers a safe clean area for walking there's a sidewalk which wraps around the lake for more family togetherness and if your there at the right time you can smell the fragrance of the honeysuckle. In my opinion Buffalo has what a family needs: safety, cleanliness. Theres shower houses and bathrooms that are kept clean at all times theres a person at the gate to collect and overlook the park for security. There's always someone there to answer questions or solve problems. The campgrounds have ample room for each site.mis behaviour is not tolerated there . There's occasional cars shows, churches, concerts even festivals people can bring their golf carts to ride or even walk their dogs on leashes dogs their welcome to camps to it's leashes required I'd say if you love a people friendly, family appmosphere then Buffalo is the place to go. Guys if you want a safe place to take your date and impress her with a romantic picnic there's lots of shade trees I'm sure there's been many proposals and weddings done there. Fish or boat being your own or rent one come make it a day or a weekend I guarantee you'll enjoy something. I will post pics later for I know your curiosity will get the best of you. Come out and enjoy all that Harrison co. has to offer. You just might want to move here. Shopping is just minutes away in Historic Corydon , ind. Read moreMy camping reservation at another campground didn't work out and I scrambled to find a replacement last minute. Booked 07/03/24 to 07/07/24 here as the reviews seemed pretty good and there were two spots left available (Booked #53). 07/03 and 07/04 were rainy and stormy but we spent most of those days with family outside of the campground.07/05 we were gone most of the day and came back in the evening. We set up our bags set on the spot next to us as no one has arrived yet(#52). The people camping across the way said they were going to join us though it looked like one of the branches in tree above #52 looked like it was going to come down and they shouldn't rent that spot. Shortly after campers showed up to set up at #52 and we moved our bags set. The next day we had family join us to swim at the lake. First the lake is not free for campers you have to pay though you get a discount for camping here $3 a person and the tickets are for the day so if you are here for a few days you will need to purchase tickets each day. Secondly they don't open said lake until 12pm and it's only open til 6pm. The bathrooms are ok, not the worst I've seen. Out dated not dirty. The bath house is covered in graffiti, but again clean just outdated. Here's where it gets scary. We have 7 children altogether and we came back from the lake for lunch. We set up our picnic table in the shade under the trees. And as I am getting 6 of the smaller kids ready to eat we here a giant crack and a huge limb of the tree starts to come down. I had my back to the tree so my oldest daughter told me to run. The tree misses our picnic table and myself by just a foot maybe two. The camper at #52 got slammed by the tree and braches. I contacted the front desk it took them nearly 10 mins to get someone out to us. We were told they had been warned about this limb for over 9 months and had done NOTHING about it. That's neglect. They offered the campers a different spot but they chose to go home. I am horrified because we had our children playing here around this tree and sitting under it and we were nearly killed. I have left messages for the parks dept as no one answers the phones. We are going to stay the last night but moved all of our things away from the tree as well as our vehicle only because we have no where else to stay the night. Never...
Read moreWe have stayed here a few times and after this last time we won't be returning. I know its its outside and bugs are to be expected, but it was extreme. As soon as we parked I put out the mosquito repellent and sprayed the kids. Within minutes the kids were already being bit, so spayed them again. Within an hour my poor son had so many bites and was swelling from them I had to take him to the doctor. So with packing back up we were only there 3 hours. I had to pay the entry fee, and we had reservations for 5 days, and ordered 3 bundles of wood. They only had 2 bundles of wood and the lady I called said they would refund me for the other bundle of wood and for 4 days of camping. Then 2 weeks later I get a check and its only $27 they only refunded me for the wood and one night camping, and that was only because someone else had stayed in the spot one night, and then they charged a $15 fee on top of that. When I called about thats was not the amount I was told I would be refunded the people were rude and wouldn't work with me. If the place was cleaned up the bug wouldn't have been so bad. There were huge plies of leaves all over the campground that had probably been there since fall just breeding mosquitos. And on top of all that the way the campsites are laid out the water for the next site was above our site and some kid left the water on and flooded our site making it a even muddier...
