The Panorama Trail is one of the most breathtaking hiking routes in Yosemite National Park, offering an unparalleled journey through some of the park's most iconic landscapes. Starting at the famed Glacier Point, which provides a spectacular overlook of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and the High Sierra, the trail covers approximately 8.5 miles as it descends to the valley floor. This trail is a visual feast for hikers, featuring a series of stunning vistas and close-up encounters with several of the park's natural wonders. As you traverse the trail, you'll pass Illilouette Fall, which presents a dramatic cascade especially in the early summer when the snow melts increase its flow. The path continues to mesmerize with panoramic views of Half Dome and the surrounding peaks, offering numerous photo opportunities. A highlight of the Panorama Trail is the section known as the Mist Trail, where you descend alongside the thunderous Nevada Fall and later Vernal Fall. This part can be particularly refreshing as the mist from the waterfalls cools the air, although it can also make the trail slippery. Suitable for experienced hikers, the Panorama Trail requires a good level of fitness due to its length and the steep descent involved. It's recommended to start early in the day to fully enjoy the experience and take plenty of water and snacks. For those looking for a truly unforgettable hike that encapsulates the majestic beauty of Yosemite, the Panorama Trail is a must-do.

Moderate trail with lots of shade and views. Went down Coyote trail and came back up through Chamise trail. Took us about an hour.

Not an easy hike, but worth the view. Plenty of shade, green, and you might get lucky and catch a glimpse of turkey and deer

I picked this trail becuase one of the reveiws say it's a "easy hike". It's actually not. The first half of the trail is all down hill and coming back is all uphill. If you have bad knees and are not in decent shape like me then pick a different trail. The best views are at the top of the trailhead. There is plenty of shade on the trail though since most of the trail is...
