We took our 3 year old and 10 year old here recently. We were a little a little nervous as it’s a difficult task to find an activity to keep them both happy and occupied. It’s either too young or old when we bring both of them but on the recommendation of a friend, we decided to spend a Tuesday here after a full day at Dutch Wonderland the day prior. This place is absolutely massive and it cannot be understated enough that it is gorgeous. Meticulously maintained, well designed and is breathtaking simply in its stature. The staff was fantastic. There were quite a few younger kids working, perhaps their first job and I was absolutely impressed how wonderful they were. Everyone working seemed to have a specific job and it’s a well oiled machine! I loved sitting at the shaded picnic tables while we took breaks and ate the awesome kettle corn and had delicious lemonade. The food was on point and truly, there is something for everyone - most importantly, it’s the choices of food that kept the kids happy and their bellies full. We didn’t have time to see everything - and we were there the full day. A lot of good old fashioned family fun - I love that this place really aims to be simple at its core and that’s why it works. Both of my kids loved the slides, the giant wall games towards the back of the property, the pedal carts we did as a family, the music, the giant locomotive that came rolling through every 30 minutes - they couldn’t pick a favorite. Reading other reviews, I decided to save Sproutsville for last and I’m glad I did. They could have spent the entire day in just that area. It is such an amazing concept. The animals were well cared for and everything was hands-on, a true learning experience that was fun. What I was most impressed with though, was the cleanliness of the entire property. Wash stations (rows and rows of them) in the animal area. Employees walking around cleaning tables in the food and picnic areas. Trash and recycling every 50 feet it seemed like. The bathrooms were impeccably maintained. Even though you are outside on a farm, it didn’t feel like that. The cost is also up there with the cleanliness. It’s affordable. It’s more than affordable to be honest. The tickets are discounted when you purchase online which is always a bonus. But, the food wasn’t expensive. The extra activities that are not included with a basic ticket are not expensive and for the price we paid after staying the entire 7 hours, it is beyond well worth it. Whomever’s brainchild Cherry Crest Farm has, is doing it right. We finished our visit with the apple cider donuts, a $4 refill on our tub of kettle corn and the delicious looking (and tasting) fudge from the sweet shop. This is an absolute MUST go! 5 stars, A for effort, entertainment and excitement. That’s...

This place really knocked our socks off!
We are an adult couple in our late 50s who decided to visit the Lancaster area for two days. We were looking for fun things to do, and honestly when we saw Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, it seemed like a kiddy place and we almost passed on it. The one thing that attracted us was the corn maze, and for that reason, we bought tickets in advance. The price was quite affordable.
We arrived close to 11:30am and by that time the park was filling up, but there was ample free parking which we quickly found. Once we entered the park, we went over to the barn areas and had a great time petting and feeding the various animals.
The highlight of our trip was the enormous corn maze. It is well worth the admission price and I have to warn you, it's no simple feat. You get three choices of challenges to take which range from 45 minutes to several hours. The one that takes several hours requires you to find a number of mailboxes hidden in the maze which give you game pieces that you tape on your playing sheet that are pieces of a full map that guide you to the exit. For the adventurer who has a lot of time on their hands, it will keep you busy for many hours.
For most people, I think the maze experience is a bit overwhelming and they will want to finish it quicker. It is extremely fun, but we went on an August Summer day where it was 80 degrees and even at that temperature, the sun is beating down hard and you sweat. Even wearing a cotton shirt, I was soaked in sweat. I was also parched rather quickly. There are water stations in the maze as well as a snack bar in its center. However, I think it's much better to do it in the Fall when its cooler. As I mentioned, it's not easy and you will find yourself going in circles. That being said, if you need to leave the maze quickly, there are quick exits available or a guide will come get you.
The rest of the park, for us two adults, was fun to walk through but we didn't pay extra to play the many games. We did make a point of climbing the steep hill, getting into a sack, and sliding down. That was a lot of fun!
Overall, a must visit for families with kids. However, if you are adventurous adults, the corn maze is well worth visiting -- especially if you put several hours aside of your day to accept all...
