Wonderful park! Lots of covered picnic tables and covered trash cans. Has doggy bags. Wonderful historical signs to explain the significance of the Fort and the city. Views are of the city, railroad, river, bridges and you can see Market Street from the top. Is ADA accessible! You must climb about 40 stairs to get to the top view point but the ADA path has good views as well. Cannons are good photo spots, and has a selfie station overlooking the water and city. Almost Heaven selfie sign made with instagram in mind. Couldn’t ask for a better blend of historical and modern relevance in regards to a place to go eat lunch alone or with family. Spent about 1 hour there total but you could do the whole park in less...

Great stop on our drive through western WV! We spent about 1.5 hours playing on the playground, reading the history, and enjoying the paths. We only did the short piece from the parking lot, around the mountain, and back up to the flagpoles. It was rocky, and a little steep, but our small kids did fantastic. It was a little uncomfortable for my far-from-athletic abilities, but overall it was fine. The highway traffic noise takes away from the ambiance, and the overgrowth blocks some of the views, but I still say it was a worth a stop to stretch your legs. We saw quite a few families enjoying...

Even though technically there’s not a Fort, this has a few cannons and old cabin on its premises. It’s a great overview of the city of Parkersburg, and even with views of Belpre, this is a great sunset location. The maintenance and upkeep is great for a local park. This park also has a few pavilions and a playground for children, it would make a good spot for small birthday parties or events. Fort Boreman even has a trail that goes through a wooded area that makes for a relaxing peace of mind to make you forget that your smack dab in the...

Fine place for a small walk around and some local history. There is an excellent view of the area including downtown Parkersburg and the confluence of the Ohio and Little Kanawha rivers (the view is probably the best reason to go here). There are some hiking trails but nothing too intense or very long. There are also several historical descriptions of the area and fort around the hill.
