Coconut Cove Waterpark and Community Center — Attraction in Parkland

Kiddie splash area and design of park is a great idea. My issues are the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. They’re old, dirty, and in need of repair. The walk up to the bathrooms, the floor is so dirty. The entire park needs pressure cleaning on the deck.

The main reason we left, was the smell of the water. With 90+ degree heat, the walk up to the water slides (over the steps/Bridge) thing smells like dirty feet and waste. Then I thought I stepped in poop or something because the smell was following me until i realized its the damn water. That was enough for me, and we left.

Two water slides, they go extremely slow. There was food in the kiddie water are. The lifeguards do not pay attention so people please keep watch on your children.

As I was leaving, they were shutting all the rides down 1:45 pm, because someone didn’t have a water diaper on their child and of course there was an accident.

Why on earth this isn’t checked at the time the tickets are paid for I have no clue. At sailfish water park in Stuart it is asked at the time of your entrance fee and if you do not show them that you have one, you MUST purchase one. The floor is so dirty at this park that when I was in the recreation pool and kiddie splash area I can feel what feels like sand at the bottom but it’s just dirt and grind from the deck not being cleaned.

Point is, it’s cheap, it’s fun for the little ones for a little bit. It gets crowded super fast by (noon), and it’s not clean. The water smell for me...

We were very excited to try this highly rated water park. We got there just before opening and there was already a long line so we knew it was popular.

The pools and lazy rivers were nice and well kept...I would have given the place 4 stars. The issues started when we realized that all the signs and website had said there was a concession stand and we were not allowed to bring outside food and drinks in BUT there was no concession stand and we saw everyone else with coolers and takeout boxes! The one and only snack stand had chips and cookies and even the Iccee machine was broken. There should of at least been temporary signs outside and on the website informing people of the lack of food availability and saying it was ok to bring in your own.

Next issue was the lack of tubes for the lazy river and lack of staff helping to ensure order. 20+ people waiting for tubes at a time and no lines, people just cutting in front and taking rafts from those that had been waiting. We waited over 20 min at one point, which would not have been a problem had there been an organized and fair line of people waiting.

Last issue was the incredible negligence and disgusting nature of the bathrooms. 3 of the womens stalls were out of order, half of the remaining with faulty flushing it seemed, broken tp holders, and black mold on toilets from leaking water.

Clean bathrooms, a simple concession stand and proper lines would take this to a 4...

This is a family park best for kids up to the age of 12. The splash area and the lazy river may not be enough to keep older kids interested. The Lap pool is about 4ft deep all around and is very nice.

My issues are with the men's locker room. The ceiling are covered with spit wads (wet toilet paper). The walls are covered with dry fecal matter and it gives the whole room the smell of poop. The walls look like they are seriously overdue to be repainted. However, had they been properly washed in the last few years there wouldn't be a film of foulness on everything. I asked a guard for a manager and was directed to a young man wearing a lifeguard shirt. He and another gentleman walked in there with me and I showed them my concerns. He told me that the ceiling could not be cleaned because they didn't have a ladder tall enough and its "always been like that for the five years ive been here". He dismissed the poop on the walls saying that the bathrooms are cleaned every day.

I don't doubt that they are swept or mopped every day doing some hasty closing ritual. I just don't believe that they have been properly cleaned in years. Can they find an excuse to assign someone to that one a month? Like the next time you show up late you're on bathroom detail? Can't they get a maintenance to clean the ceiling once a season or at least expense a ladder rental?

Overall the place is fun. Based on the bathrooms, I wouldn't...
