Absolutely one of the worst dog parks I've ever been to.
First off, as always, there are two sections of the dog park. The big dogs, and the small dogs, are segregated (as they should be!). "Great," you think "I didn't want my little dog to be trampled by the bigger ones so this works out" Except, and here's the kicker, the differences for the sections is enormous, and honestly, extremely unfair.
While the Big Dog park has mulitple trees, ramps, hoops, platforms and a trail that's about a half mile around (give or take a little bit)... The other one is much different.
The Small Dog park, has 1 hoop. Right in front of a boulder. No ramps, no platforms. Know what else it has? A MINUSCULE path to walk on! This thing takes less than 90 seconds to walk around! While you're walking on this pathetic excuse for a path, make sure you stop by the water fountain that multiple people claim have poisoned their dogs. It gets better, because the grass is LITTERED with stickers. You know that sharp as knives weed, that if it gets stuck inside your dogs paws, can make them squeal in pain? I certainly do.
Just because these dogs are smaller, does NOT mean that they should get less space, less obstacles, and worse conditions. You, the park operators, can EASILY cordon off the back end of that Big Dog area, and give it to the small dogs. That's just to start. Not like it's gonna matter though, because I'm...
Read moreMaggie and I love this dog park. We try to go earlier in the morning when there are fewer people there because she’s still learning to socialize and be nice. Almost everyone is nice about it and understanding though. She’s also a hound so she bays and barks a lot, but most people think it’s funny and endearing.
The park is nice and big with plenty of space for them to run around. Bring a towel and just plan on your dog getting wet. I’ve pretty much resigned to the fact that every time we go to the park, it’s also going to be bath day. There are always puddles and my dog always finds them. The nice thing is that there’s two wash stations at the park too! So we just get bath time done right there (I’ll bring soap) and then she sits on a towel on the way home.
The big dog park also has a little dog park right next to it and Maggie loves running up and down the fence with the...
Read moreThis is the dog park that everyone seems to go to within like a 10 mile radius. There are plenty of regulars and a pretty steady stream of dogs throughout the days. Theres 2 sides to it, one for small dogs up to 20 lbs and then the other side for 20 lbs and up. If you're an early bird, there is a group of dogs that seem to always be there in between 7-9am. And then another wave from 9-Noon. A little scattered in the afternoon but always turns into a dog party once people start getting off work. And weekends are always a for sure party unless it's raining. Can get very muddy with multiple puddles that all dogs seem to be attracted to but they do have 2 wash stations outside the main gates to rinse anybody off. The park has public restrooms close by and other areas for kids...
