I found this farm while looking for ideas for a fun bachelorette day for my sister, so I booked a last-minute ticket to check it out first by myself. I wanted to make sure that the animals were well-cared for and that it would really be fun (and not just a petting zoo kind of experience). When I arrived, a very friendly and helpful lady named Jayne checked me in at the front desk. She answered all my questions and even gave me some ideas for the bachelorette day. When I told her I had wanted to walk an alpaca but tickets were sold out online, she checked to see if there was an opening and fit me in.
For the tour, first Nick (the owner) gave an educational and entertaining short lesson about alpacas. Then we spent some time one-on-one with them in their enclosure. After a while we went to a second enclosure and hung out with another group of alpacas. And after that, we took a third group of alpacas for a walk. I wish I had gotten the names of the young ladies who helped us walk them that day because they were awesome. Being alone, I figured I’d end up with a few selfies, but they offered to take our phones and took tons of pics for everyone.
Seeing that the alpacas were obviously very healthy, happy and loved, and since I had a really fun time even by myself, I decided to book a tour/walk for my sister and the girls. Nick took the time to chat with me and help me plan the day. I was surprised at how reachable the owner makes himself by phone and email. Even though I couldn’t book a private tour (because there was already one booked on my date), Nick was super accommodating and helped me arrange what felt like a private tour anyway. He was ok with my brother coming along to photograph us, and he suggested bringing stuff for a picnic afterwards (they have a cute spot with a table under some trees).
So a couple weeks later I was back with a group of girls and they all had a fantastic time. Again, the young ladies working there were all wonderful – really kind (to both people and alpacas), took lots of pics for us, taught us about the individual alpacas who they clearly knew well. Liv helped us get to know the alpacas in the enclosures, and Jessica and Maisie took us for a walk.
Overall this was a super fun, educational, affordable day. Nick and his team went above and beyond in giving me ideas and helping me plan. I did not expect so much support for what’s just a regular day to them. They obviously get that it’s a special day for their visitors :) Thank you Nick, Jayne, Jessica, Maisie, Liv, and everyone else for...
Read moreI am absolutely appalled by my experience with Blue Bird Alpaca Farms and its deceitful proprietor, Nick. Our encounter with this establishment has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share our story to prevent others from falling victim to their treacherous practices.
We had booked our wedding at Blue Bird Alpaca Farms, entrusting Nick with one of the most important days of our lives. The contract we signed, which in hindsight was incredibly ambiguous, stated that we could have our deposit refunded as long as the date and time were rebooked. It did not specify that the rebooking had to be for another wedding, just that the slot needed to be filled.
When circumstances forced us to cancel our wedding at BlueBird Alpaca Farms, we were initially relieved to learn that the date and time had been rebooked for another event. However, our relief quickly turned to horror when Nick refused to return our deposit. He claimed that because the rebooking was not for another wedding, we were not entitled to a refund. This was a blatant misinterpretation of our agreement, which never stipulated that the rebooked event had to be a wedding.
Nick's refusal to honor our contract is nothing short of highway robbery. His actions are those of a charlatan, scamming and overcharging innocent people who trust him with their precious moments. He hides behind his ambiguous contracts and exploits the trust of his clients to line his own pockets.
To anyone considering booking an event at Blue Bird Alpaca Farms, I implore you to reconsider. The enchanting allure of this place is nothing but a facade, masking the ominous and dishonest business practices lurking beneath. Do not fall for Nick's deceitful charm. He will take your money, break your trust, and leave you heartbroken and betrayed.
Our experience with Blue Bird Alpaca Farms has been a devastating ordeal, and I sincerely hope that by sharing our story, we can spare others from the same fate. Avoid this place at all costs. Do not let Nick scam you as he did us. This is a warning to all—stay far away from Blue Bird...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I have two toddlers, one being special needs. I ordered my tickets far in advance and paid extra for four tickets so that maybe one of us would be able to walk an alpaca. We arrived late due to our tots having a rough time and the hours in travel time. The owner proceeded to embarrass us Infront of other guest by telling me that he was letting me see the animals as a courtesy when I asked if he could reschedule us for another day instead so we wouldn’t loose the $110 spent, or if he could at least let one of my boys walk an alpaca. Kept saying that there was nothing he could do, although it was his farm, and they are his animals. Said that I was stealing time and space from the people standing behind him. The look on their faces made us feel so small. It’s Clear that he needs the money, and would not be kind enough to reschedule us for another day. Was truly giving RACIST vibes, it’s unfortunate that people like this still exist in our country. Heartless and hungry. I’m sure if we weren’t people of color, it would have been a different story. Thank God we were blessed enough to be able to take Our children to a better establishment. I won’t recommend this place to anyone anymore. I’ll definitely let my organization know as well, since we often like to send our families there. There’s a much nicer farm just a few minutes away. Save your money for people who are compassionate and understand families who have small children, life isn’t perfect at times, I’ll always choose to find ways to be light to others, this place clearly won’t. I would never turn a child away after such a long journey, let alone keep over $108 in my pocket for not providing a service. Oh and the website will take your money for an alpaca walk but won’t state the age restriction! So not sure if my toddler would have been able to walk with one,...
