I am giving it 2 stars for their chocolate moose and rum ball. Those were pretty good the rest not so much . We wanted to try a lot of pastries so we got chocolate moose, rum ball and chocolate croissant, plus 2 caramel macchiatos. Chocolate croissant was just plain croissant. When we split it in half there was so little chocolate that we looked at each other and asked if it was a joke . We went in after not even touching the croissant and the macchiatos( because they tasted just like plain espresso, not caramel macchiato), and told them that we don't want to even try it because there is barely any chocolate and CARAMEL macchiatos didn't taste like it at all. Also my fiancé who was there with me is a baker and said to them that it wasn't really a chocolate croissant since he knows something about it . One of the workers Andy told us that's just how they make it and that if we want he can put it in the oven for us. So I told him no thank you just the check. I think every normal business ( including ours) wouldn't charge for something customer didn't like and DIDNT TOUCH but not these guys I paid for 2non-caramel macchiato which I didn't even drink, and NON CHOCOLATE croissant that was as we were given on the plate . To which I asked are you really charging me for something I didn't even touch because it was so bad? He said I ll do you a favor I won't charge for the croissant which was only 3.25$ . But did charge 10$ for 2 macchiatos that we didn't drink. The attitude was not pleasant at all and I will...
Read moreI used to love this place! I have been coming to this place since I moved to the area in 2016. However, either the owner doesnât care anymore or the employees are contributing to the decline of the service. I always get all my cakes, French macarons, cookies and croissants, for all my multiple parties from this place. Like usual I stopped by on a Monday to place an order for a party on Saturday, but the place was closed, due to the âheat waveâ, I was OK and told myself, no problem Iâm a regular and Iâll call the next day to place my order, well I call in to place the order and a very rude lady on the phone said they couldnât accommodate, because the orders are supposed to be 5 days in advance. I told her that I would have met the deadline, if they didnât close for a âheat waveâ and that it wasnât my fault. She responded, âwell itâs not my fault either that the management decided to close and the owner said she cannot do itâ. What kind of response is this to a regular customer, who buys all my pastries from this place? I like to support local, but I WILL NEVER GO BACk TO THIS PLACE⊠I ended up driving to Ladure at Short Hills and got all the French macarons from a real Parisian store, who didnât give me an attitude on my order. Definitely this place has...
Read moreFirst time visit. Went for the chocolate layer cake for my wife's birthday - she loves chocolate fudge icing. This 6" cake weighed 3lb 10oz! It was a big hit. A bit heavy on the sweet fudge icing for my taste, but I generally like less sugar than most people. The wife and guests loved it.
While there I picked up a baguette. WOW! THE best French style baguette I found in the area - and that includes a well known place in Newark where I still regularly get my Italian bread. Perfectly crispy crust with a delicate, airy, chewy center. It took me back to a Parisian vacation where we stopped at Maison Landemaine Beaumarchais for our daily baguettes (check their rating, because Cocoluxe is that good). I know that sounds ridiculously pompous, but it's the best way I can say, "This is seriously good bread!" If you REALLY enjoy the simple pleasure of a delicious baguette and butter, or cheese, then you have to come here. It's the only place I'll be getting my baguettes from now on, and oh yeah, I'll be sampling the...
