Sharing my wedding nightmare experience at Club 19

I recently held my wedding at Club 19 and, unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience, largely due to mismanagement by Susan, the venue manager.

Initially, we scheduled our ceremony for 6 pm, but four months before the wedding, we decided to start at 7:30 pm to catch the sunset. Susan assured us this change was fine, as long as we ended by midnight, per the city ordinance. Her only concern was if we start late, we won't be able to utilize the hours that we booked because we need to end the party at 12mn. On the day of the wedding, however, Susan told our guests that the party needed to end at 11:30 pm, and extending until midnight would incur extra charges. This was highly inappropriate and should have been addressed with us directly. After a stressful conversation, she reluctantly agreed to our original plan, making it seem as if we were at fault.

Additionally, the setup timing was mismanaged. We were initially told setup could begin at 9 am, but just days before the event, Susan informed us that we needed to choose between an indoor or outdoor ceremony because the weather's not been that great, with the setup starting at 4:30 pm. On the day, the outdoor setup didn't begin until after 5-ish pm, causing our decorator to rush and resulting in a chaotic scene, including golfers present and swinging during our ceremony despite assurances that the venue would be closed for our event. We were worried of the casualties it could cause. Especially my guests. So we couldn't really concentrate on the wedding. Also, the time delay meant we missed essential daylight and drone shots, and our photographers had to take nighttime photos during dinner, compromising both the quality of our photos and our time with guests. We didn't have daylight shots. We also didn't have pictures with the guests. Such a nightmare.

These significant disruptions and miscommunications resulted in us missing key moments and photo opportunities, leaving us stressed and disappointed. While the food quality was good, the overall management of our event was subpar. We had high expectations for our wedding at Club 19, and these were not met.

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at Club 19, and it was truly a magical experience. From the moment we first visited the venue, we were impressed by its stunning beauty and elegant ambiance. The entire team at Club 19 went above and beyond to ensure that our special day was perfect in every way.

The planning process was seamless, thanks to their attentive and professional staff. They were incredibly accommodating to all our requests and helped us with every detail, from the decor to the menu selection. On the day of the wedding, everything was executed flawlessly. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the exceptional service and the delicious food. The venue's staff was courteous, attentive, and made sure everyone had a wonderful time. We felt completely taken care of, which allowed us to fully enjoy our special day without any worries.

A special shoutout to our wedding coordinator, Susan Fowler, who was an absolute star throughout the entire process. Her dedication and expertise made our dream wedding come to life.

We are incredibly grateful to Club 19 for providing us with memories that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a perfect wedding experience.

This was my wife and I's wedding venue on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022. We will never forget this place, this venue, this reception, this ceremony, this golf course, this cocktail hour area, bridal suite room and more. Shoutout to Susan, Martha, Bruce and the entire Club 19 staff for being accommodating and hospitable to my wife's and I's close family and friends. We had around 58 guests for one of the best days of our lives.

The Taste of the Islands cuisine for the reception was delicious and very filling - it had salad along with grouper, pork with jerk chicken sauce, jerk chicken, yellow rice and beans, roasted veggies, plantains, rolls and one other item I do not remember. There was also dessert, which consisted of a glass martini of mixed fruit with sugar sprinkled around the edge. We had cake that was catered by an outside vendor (very well-known grocery store chain in 11 US states).

The ceremony time was a bit blazing with the sun being out, but overall we are grateful there weren't any inclement weather and it was just hot and windy. The venue is accessible as you do not need to pay to park along with there being a nice driveway to drop things off or take pictures in front of. Bathrooms were adequately equipped as well.
