On April 27, 2019 I was part of a bus tour and Bonobo was the last winery we visited. We were all VERY disappointed at our last stop. Our group was seated together in a tasting room which we thought was very nice. We were told what we would be tasting that afternoon. EVERY vine pre-selected was dry, no variety. We did not care for any of the wines and left without making any purchases.

This was the most expensive tasting- $10, the others were $5. The other places we stopped we got to choose what we wanted to taste. We waited in line at the other stops and had a great time!

We were excited to learn about the restaurant on site from the bus driver and we changed our plans to eat after the tasting, we had lots of time to buy a glass of vine and eat, It is a beautiful place, but after the tasting none of us were inclined to pay more to taste more vines that we may not like. We decided to leave and go eat somewhere else in TC.

There were 15 ladies in our group- at the other 2 stops we had we bought at least 20 bottles of vine at each stop, we all planned on buying wine at Bonobo also, but didn't.

I hope this review changes how tastings are done for groups, most of our group wants to return to TC to do another tour, but none of us want to return to...

UPDATED:::::: 2022 Wife and I toured the peninsula- hit all the classic vineyards. This time around, Bonobo was in full service and it didn’t disappoint. You’re not going to find the cheapest prices at Bonobo, but if there’s one vineyard that you want to slow down, order charcuterie, take a deep breath, and enjoy an extended time, it’s Bonobo.

2020 Expected more. I imagine that we'll have a better experience if we return.

Wife and I went wine tasting for the day with another couple. We visited ten vineyards total during our weekend stay in the area. We are amateur wine tasters in every sense. THE GOOD: Good views from the outdoor deck - picturesque. Good, clean bathroom options.

THE BAD: Average wine. They only allowed us to do wine by the glass when we were there (this might have been due to COVID-19), but other places allowed us to do flights and tastings. The outdoor fire-pit was not running, and it was a little chilly. Would have been nice...

Bonobo used to be my favorite winery on the peninsula. The facility, views and wines had always been the draw for me; a triple threat so to speak. This visit I found the facilities; inside and out, in need of some love and attention. The glass in the fireplace and outdoor hearth are in need of cleaning (glass) and re-facing (hearth). When I see furniture in need of repair (outdoor sectional brackets falling out of joints, chairs scuffed, cushions worn out), interior and exterior finishes/surfaces in dire need of paint (doors, doorways)I begin to wonder what may also be deteriorating regarding internal operations. Wine tasting format has changed; not unlike other wineries along the peninsula; no big deal but I’m not tasting anything new, revolutionary, inspirational. Hopeful and confident that Bonobo can become the triple threat which I thoroughly enjoyed during...

Top notch establishment! My family and I decided to enjoy a winery tour for Thanksgiving weekend this year. After our first two Old Mission stops were subpar with an unenjoyable tasting experience, this winery was such a breath of fresh air! I didn't realize how much wine tasting had changed in this area over the years. Sadly, it has become quite impersonal. This was NOT the case at Bonobo. The staff were inviting and knowledgeable, the wine was delicious, and the winery itself is breathtakingly beautiful! I couldn't help but say to the young lady waiting on us, "Thank you for being so kind to us today." Because we were really grateful in that moment for our positive experience here. Bonobo really turned it around for us that day. We loved our visit!
