We went to several different wineries in the peninsula and I vote this winery to be the best and here's why: 1) Very affordable - for $5 you get to taste five different wines and, thanks to COVID, you get to keep your wine glass as a souvenir. Not only that the tasting is affordable but the wines themselves are very tasty and affordable. Don't you hate it when you do a tasting and the great wines that you'd like to bring home cost >$50/bottle? Not with this place! I tried their low to high end and everything in between and I was just as satisfied with the low $13/bottle wine than I did the $30/bottle. So yes, you can bring a few bottles home for yourself and even gift some of their nicer wines without breaking the bank. Also great discount on bulk purchases or if you're in the military :) 2) Location location location! Just outside of the property is a great lookout spot so ready your cameras. Also, when it's not freezing outside, you can walk around the property with a great view. 3) COVID-conscious. This is the best COVID-safety practicing winery that we went to. With that, there's a tradeoff where they don't take reservations for tasting and there may be longer lines as they only allow <6 groups (3 for tasting while the other 3 waiting) with <4 people/group so go there early as there was a line even before their doors open. All of their staff was knowledgeable with their wines and very hospitable. My personal recommendations? Any one of their Riesling (I am typically a full-bodied red wine person but theirs are just nice and tasty), cab reserve, cherry port and the Etcetera family.

🍷 Chateau Grand Traverse – A Must-Visit Gem in Northern Michigan We had a fantastic experience at Chateau Grand Traverse! This winery offers a wide variety of tasting options—from curated flights to à la carte wine tasting—and the cherry wines, made from locally sourced cherries, were a standout. 🍒 The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, helping us find wines that matched our preferences, whether dry, sweet, red, or white. Prices were very reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. They also offer a membership program with great perks like complimentary tastings and discounts on bottles. You can choose your wines or let their team surprise you with seasonal selections—perfect for adventurous sippers. Bonus points for being pet-friendly! 🐾 The patio is a great spot to enjoy a glass while your furry friend lounges nearby. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and explore their impressive selection. It’s a perfect blend of local flavor, hospitality, and charm.

This is near the top of my 3 favorite wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula. First their wines are superb. The Old Mission Peninsula’s wineries are known for their whites and I will say that their late harvest Riesling and late harvest Chardonnay are two of the best white wines one will find. The tasting flights are very affordable and the price per bottle of wine is very good. As a bonus we joined their club which is free. The only thing commitment associated with that membership is to have 3 bottles of wine shipped to our house 4 times a year. A perk is if one wants to spend a night or two in their Inn located in a separate building on the grounds, they can get a deal which includes buy one night and get a second for free I. The off season as well as have free tastings and a free bottle of wine. We just did this in the middle of February and loved every aspect of our experience!

I'd give a 5 star but we were shammed we were told if you sign up for a membership you save on bottles and get a free Glass but not told the 12 bottles were thier choice they send you not what you like.....I asked if I buy 12 bottles at the gift store does it count and Sherri avoided the question. We should be allowed to pick our 12 bottles out on the membership price break. Especially I spent hundreds I bought tons of the plum reserve cause I love anything plum wine or alcohol wise.....I'd like to see the 12 bottles be what we choose . So be leary or the membership deal....however Sherri was awesome we absolutely love the plum wine and that's why we went there. Hope you guys keep offering the plum and anything plum related...if you offer better deals then 20percent off I'd be interested In a few cases of the plum while you have them. There you're most expensive being 375ml but I bought alot already and would like to buy a few cases...
