Pleasant Harbor Marina — Attraction in Peoria

Very crowded on weekends. Very long lines for the boat ramps and nightly slip rental reservations are impossible for holiday weekends. They will only take reservations for overnight boat slips one week in advance of your arrival. We tried this for Memorial weekend and could never get someone to answer the phones and no one returned our MANY messages. So if you plan on bringing your boat, expect to spend a lot of time on the boat ramp. Update: A year and two visits later and we still are not happy with the Marina. The RV resort is great, Dillon's BBQ is awesome...the Marina? Still no overnight slips available even though the website clearly says "$30 per night for slip rental..." they still have not completed the repairs in more than a year! Oddly, they have numerous daily slips available but must be vacated by 1 am. Doesn't make sense. So, plan on fighting the boat ramp crowds twice a day during your stay. Or just leave you boat at home. Our last trip here we didn't even bother putting our boat in the water. We just hung out by the pool and enjoyed dinner and drinks...

Great place to spend a weekend. There are plenty of things to do for the adventurous person/family. The pool is huge and very nice. The lake is clean and beautiful so we actually swam in it more than the pool. There is a store by the pool and on the floating Marina, they do take advantage of not having competition so their prices are high, hit it's far away from everything so it ends up being cheaper to pay 6 bucks for a 10# bag of ice rather than jirn fuel and time going to the nearest store. We swam in several spots but we liked swimming from the Marina's dock best. We also did some fishing in the early mornings. We tried a few spots and different baits and techniques, bit had no luck. I suggest doing some research on the lake if you plan to go fishing here. There are lots of fish out there because you can see them but they are picky eaters. We didn't rent a boat so I can't comment on that. My Son went down the waterslide and enjoyed it. There are so many things to do here that you can't do them in...

Rude female assistant manager who is incompetent, cannot take food orders or remember your food order and is equal to a persnickety female dog . I waited over 50 minutes for my food and I never received it. When I went back to ask where my hamburger was the same persnickety female dog for a assistant manager asked me what I ordered. She did not even bother to write my order down on a order form. Very crappy service ! When I called the management to make sure this would not happen to anyone else, instead of accepting ANY RESPONSIBILITY, the management wanted to argue with me about weather or not I acted inappropriately when my food did not come.
