Central Arizona Project is awe inspiring. Implemented to deliver claimed water rights of Arizona' It's amazing the way they brought this water all the way over from the Colorado River. Water has to drop one-quarter inch for every 12 inches to maintain its own flow; however, the pressure from the mass of water confined by the canal walls assist in keeping the water moving in the right direction as well as a series of strategically placed water elevators. From the CAP Trail you can see a couple miles of the length of this Canal, as well as beautiful Vistas of the surrounding trust lands and the southern Bradshaw's. There are several directions you can travel along this Trail network, zigzagging up the ridges with very little effort and the trails are well-established. Hike early to beat the summer heat pack along at least a half gallon of water per person. If you bring your dog, keep him on a leash, and if you see anything wild don't go up and introduce yourself, that's how people get, stung, bit, and otherwise harmed by what's out in the desert. Be...
