Booked thru hotels.com. Said confirmed. Drove 45 mins in traffic to get there. Called because I was looking for a hotel and was in a residential area thought I was lost. Asked for address she tells me to “check my confirmation page for it” I explained I was driving and she refused to provide address until I gave her my booking details. Then she hangs up on me, only to call back and say “we are double booked, and there’s not a room available anymore” no apologies, nothing. She hangs up on me again. I had, again, driven 45 minutes in rush hour traffic to get here and she didn’t tell me until I ARRIVED that someone had just so happened to book the same room right before me. Well if that was indeed the case then why didn’t I receive a phone call much sooner than my arrival time?? Worst decision ever. Will NEVER EVER EVER GO THRU HOTELS.com because I can’t get a live agent to save my life to resolve this, and will most definitely NEVER stay at this rudely-run, snobby establishment (if that’s what you want to call it—it’s a HOUSE that is it—nothing fancy just somebody’s HOUSE, not a HOTEL so it shouldn’t even be on HOTELS dot com because it’s someone’s home!!!). False advertising and very rude, mean hosts. The woman kept talking over me, interrupted everything I tried to say to her. Her name was Christine and she’s what rhymes with witch. Absolutely the worst display of “customer service” I have EVER encountered. Steer clear of this place they won’t make things right even if and especially if it’s their fault. Most rude person I’ve ever had the misfortune of speaking to over the phone. I will tell everyone I know on every social media platform and review site possible just how horrible and disgusting these people were to me. Ugh. DO NOT BOOK AT HAPPY VALLEY...
Read moreWell, what to say ? The place is probably a nice place and we were looking forward to be there. We were in Dunedin to a rugby game finishing late. I asked if we could check in on our way to Dunedin in the morning (where we had to be for lunch), just to introduce ourselves and see with them where we could find the keys when we'll return after the game. But we've been told it was not possible. The owners where away, which I could understand. Everything was paid in advance, I thought they would be like kiwis are...helpful ! But no, they never excepted to organise to leave the keys somewhere for us to stay that night... Not used to this in New-Zealand. They took the money and...
Read moreAlthough the address is Phoenix, the location is not central. It is, however, a nice residential area. The room was spacious (I had the room with the private bath, the other rooms share a bathroom) and I really only have two small complaints. The first was the lack of adequate lighting in the room. No overhead light fixture and a few low-wattage bulbs in lamps scattered around. The second is more a question than a complaint: this hotel is in a residential home, it has a kitchen but is not a...
