Note: this is a private trail and is for guests only. As far as a simple and convenient trail I have given 5 stars. There is a waterfall like feature at about the 1/2 mile mark so it’s an ideal short hike for families with small kids. Beyond that there is not much payoff for kids. At about 1.5 mark begins the final leg and it’s straight up trail. Stick to the first 1/2 mile (in/out 1 mile). Water feature pictured herein. Rocking chairs on front porch at the trailhead. Hiked up today with my husband. Didn’t go all the way up to the top, but the climb wasn’t too strenuous. The trail was a little wet and muddy on some places, so don’t wear fancy shoes. The creek was really pretty and would be an amazing place to bring the kids in the summer to play in.

Great time hiking to the top, is tough but you can do it! Found some bigfoot signs at the top where a tree was snapped in half about 7'6" tall. At the bottom of the tree was a huge footprint. I didn't notice it until looking at the pictures later.

Did the trail today..sadly waterfall was about dry. Have done several trails in the Smokies and not really that concerned about views, just appreciate it if I find some. Read lots of various opinions on this trail, which I’m assuming this results from hiking skill level. It’s true you won’t see a lot of people and it’s quiet. Was disappointed in the trail as a lot seemed more like a hard, washed out gully old logging road, as well as gravel driveway. It is very steep, and the best view is before you even get to the very top. Some of the people we did see were not prepared at all for the steepness...

This is a beautiful trail. First half of its pretty easy going. last half is extremely strenuous. And just the time you think you've reached the last steep hill, there's another one coming. This trail is labeled as moderate difficulty. I think it's a little bit tougher than moderate, in my opinion. my wife almost had to call 911 three times because she was afraid I was having a heart attack but I would not give up. I finally made it to the top and screamed at the top of my lungs, Drago!!! Just like Rocyy did...
