In a state known for its diamonds, the Hemingway-Pheiffer home/museum is particularly brilliant.. The Museum is a shining example of well-preserved, lovingly cared-for buildings and artifacts of another era. It is a standing tribute to the Pheiffer family who made the house their home, led by compassionate and enterprising example, and welcomed the young writer, Ernest Hemingway, into their home, as a son.
As a writer of guidebooks, I can tell you that Buddy stunned me with his broad and encompassing knowledge. He was delightful, deep, and engaging. Please book with him if you get the chance. He filled in gaps in my own knowledge and added interesting details that make me want to return for more. I think many people will feel the same.

The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum was an unexpected gem—absolutely amazing in every way. The museum offers a beautifully preserved glimpse into the lives of the Pfeiffer family, who not only left an indelible mark on their community but also played a pivotal role in supporting Ernest Hemingway during a critical period of his writing career. The warmth and generosity of the Pfeiffers is evident in every room, and knowing that Hemingway penned some of his most famous works in their barn-turned-writing studio made the experience even more powerful. This site is more than just a museum—it’s a window into the life of a literary legend and the remarkable family that helped shape his story. A must-see for any literature lover or...

When we googled, “Things to do in the Piggott area” we were surprised to find out that the museum was a short drive away. We showed up on that rainy Monday without calling and in the middle of lunch hour and were pleasantly surprised by Autumn Who made us feel welcome and grabbed a couple of umbrellas to keep us dry. She gave us a tour of the House as well as the surrounding buildings and local history. Autumn was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and we were absolutely floored about amount of knowledge she shared with us. All absolutely interesting and amazing. The museum is a must visit place if you are...
