Worth the Drive: A Great Weekend at Western Son Distillery We drove in from Houston for the weekend to visit the Western Son Distillery in Pilot Point, TX and it was absolutely worth it. From start to finish, the experience was laid-back, informative, and fun. We took a tour of the facility, which gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how their vodka is made—from the ingredients to the distillation process. Our tour guides, Tiffany & Frankie broke down the history of the distillery. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for every sip. One of the highlights was the chance to fill our own bottles of peach-flavored vodka to take home. It’s a small touch, but it made the experience feel that much more hands-on and special. We also sampled several of the flavored vodkas. If you enjoy learning about what you’re drinking and want something more than just a typical bar tasting, this place is worth checking out. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon, and the surrounding area has a relaxed, small-town feel that made the whole trip a nice escape from the city.

This place is a self-proclaimed destination distillery. Of that, I would 100% agree. The tour was amusing and a little more involved than other distillery tours I've done in the past. If you so choose, you can fill your own bottle of vodka to take home. The head distiller also signs the bottle for you. There are two bars that we saw, and they have their own special cocktails you can order. They also had live music. It is meant to be a place you kick back and stay awhile. It was a great experience.

Western Son has it going on in Pilot Point! The atmosphere, tour, drinks, music, and prices were great and I’d return in a heartbeat. The tour was $35 bucks (comes with a bottle) and they are on Saturdays only. You can also do the tour for $15 bucks if you don’t get a bottle. Staff were nice, informative, and quick with drinks. Live music on the patio was great, and ample amount of room to hangout. Highly recommend visiting here if you enjoy their selection or are in the area!

I was so excited to go to Western Sons and support a local distillery. However, due to a combination of us being 10 minutes late and their poor customer service, I will not go back or support them in the future. As I mentioned earlier, we showed up 10 minutes late for a distillery tour due to construction and poor planning on our end. The ambiance there is country but also trendy. They had quite a few spots for photo ops, cheap snacks, and a large menu of drinks to try.

When we went to the bar, told them we were late, they said it was totally fine and that we just missed to first 10 mins of the tour. She asked us if we wanted to bottle our own vodka, and we said yes. There were 4 of us, so 4 bottles. She gave us the lids and took us to the tour group. As the tour proceeded, we told the person giving the tour we didn't have bottles. He threw his back and SIGHED and then walked away. Said nothing at all. He brought a bottle for the other couple who also showed up late, but didn't bring ours. So while everyone was bottling and going through the entire process, we just had to sit back and wait.

At the very end of the tour, we waited until everyone had their bottles signed and then mentioned that we still hadn't received our bottles and again they seemed irritated about the situation. He said "I can run them back real quick", but didn't seem enthused. The lady that helped us originally said she could refund us. No option to just receive other bottles or anything. It was just all really uncomfortable and pretty unprofessional.

I am well aware that we showed up late. I get it. But if it was going to be an issue, they should've NOT offered the bottling experience at the beginning or asked us to wait for the later tour.

Based on their actions, demeanors, and overall experience, we will no longer be supporting this company. Which is honestly pretty disappointing since we love to travel around Texas and try all the local distilleries, wineries,...

Walked in at the perfect time. They were starting a tour in 10 minutes. The tour guide Vinnie was personable and layed back. He had great stories and a passion for his work. Learned all about their Vodka making process. They have a mini garden where they grow some fruits and herbs to use in some of the drinks you can buy before or after the tour. I got a peach mule. Very yummy! After the tour I got to taste some of the flavors. I bought a bottle of blueberry and a bottle of lime. My husband and I will return in a few months for the new tours they will start having and get to pour and lable our own...
