As others have shared, this is a gem of a museum that runs solely on donations. There are eight historical buildings to walk through all within a 1/2-block radius. The main museum building originally housed the city's power station and they've done an excellent job retaining aspects of the power generators, alongside a plethora of artifacts. In fact, they've an amazing barbed wire collection of over 100 various types of fencing - - who knew there were so many!?!? Whether you stroll through one building or all, you won't be disappointed. We spent a little more than an hour and enjoyed all eight. Read moreMy son and I toured the museum, including all its outbuildings. The old Catholic church moved from Burns (formerly Luther) and the old schoolhouse were a couple favorites. Inside building one (original town power plant) are the enormous original diesel generators and a traveling candy seller’s case from the 1900s complete with candy, so cool! Mary was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our visit memorable.
