Barbell Barbell is the best powerlifting gyms that I have been at with top of the line equipment, welcoming atmosphere and an amazing owner. Overall rating for each category for people who want the TLDR. Equipment quality: 5/5 Location: N/A Cleaniness: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cost: 5/5 Amenties: 4.5/5 (clean washroom, wifi etc. Only thing missing is some more air circulation but they are renovating right now. I will amend the review when it is done.) Personal trainer: 5/5 ---Photos attached--- My story with Barbell Barbell started early during the year when I was in Florida for a business trip and looking for a gym to workout at I found Barbell Barbell. I signed up for the gym with the QR code on the door and went in. The gym was very clean, it also had amazing barbells, chalk and all types of equipments. The bars all have high quality grips that actually made my hand hurt but at least it didn't slide at all. My old gym had old bars which felt like they were going to slip everytime I tried to lift heavy. I got a good workout in and met some early gym goers and later Morgan who was the owner. He is a great guy, super friendly, he gave me great tips on how to improve my bench press and even spotted me for a few sets. All of their equipment felt super solid, no shaking or lose componets. They even had some strongman stuff there as well. Ever since then, ive been with them for a few months and this is my rating of the gym so far. Equipment: From what I saw the main room has 4 squat racks 2 monolifts 4 combo racks 1 reverse hyper-extension machine chains and a bunch of barbell variations Strong man equipment The second room had a bunch of various condition equipment, two sets of dumbells, row machine, lat pulldown machine, stretch zone etc. (I don't know the name of all the equipment but I have the area photo) Overall rating for equipment Quality is 5/5 (only a bit lower for strongman stuff if you are interested as 4/5) Quantity is 5/5 Cleaniness and customizability is all 5/5 Location: Location is something I can't rate as I am an outsider to Florida. It does feel pretty convinient by car but much less so by bike or walking. In terms of the overall location of the gym relative to the surrounding region amenities, I am not sure. The gym inside is very nice though as it is a nice isolated building, solid floors and enough room for everyone. Interior 5/5 Cleaniness and amenities: I will rate these two together as the gym is pretty clean and has great amenities. Equipment feels brand new and the gym is not dirty by any means. They also have wifi, clean washroom, air conditioning and some small ventilation fans. The air condition is weak so the gym is installing some large fans to help with air circulation to prepare for summer. Right now I find myself being too reliant on the ventilation fans to stop me from overheating. Recently, they also added a messaging service which I have not used. Cleaniness: 5/5 Amenities: 4.5/5 Personal trainer: The gym also has personal trainer mainly being the owner himself. I am not a client of his but I at least speak on what I have seen. He is very caring and honest with his clients as I see him guiding them throughout their workout routines. This ranges from beginners to more experienced gym goers. The cost for his personal training is listed on his website. I am not sure if the gym has other trainers. Personal Trainer experience: 5/5 Personal Trainer quality: 5/5 Personal Trainer amount: N/A (not aware of other personal trainers) Atmosphere: The gym itself is very nice and the people who go there are also very friendly. Everyone is chill and you can ask them for tips as most of them are very experienced in powerlifting or bodybuilding. However, for people who are not used to the loud banging plates it might be quite a shock for you but gets you pumped. Atmosphere: 5/5 Cost: Overall, cost is found on the gym site which includes day passes $15, weekpass $30 and monthly $60. Quite affordable. Cost: 5/5 Overall, amazing experience. Would recommend to anyone! Thanks Morgan.

Great gym! The mecca of powerlifting facilities on the westside of the state. The atmosphere is fantastic and everyone there is genuinely interested in getting stronger. They also offer 1on1 training with Chuck and Morgan if that is something you are interested in! If you are looking for the niche equipment tailored to the needs of strength training, this is your facility.

Barbell Barbell is THE gym in the greater Tampa Bay Area. If you lift equipped this is the closest thing to paradise that you will find outside of Ohio. If you are a raw lifter you are also covered, multiple combo racks and multiple sets of calibrated kilo plates. There is also a blossoming strongman area that continues to grow.

Maybe you don’t compete and just want a gym that’s private, has good equipment, good music, and awesome people? This is your spot. You’ll be surrounded by some of the nicest and strongest members of the entire Bay Area strength community that will support and push you to your goals.

Anyways if you’re from out of town here’s a rough summary of the goodies so you can plan your training day while down on vacation or whatever. Full ME or DE day just like you’d have at home.

2 monos (dynabody & elitefts), multiple 65lb and 55lb squat bars, too many power bars, multiple deadlift bars from each brand (Texas, rogue, kabuki, sportkraft), 55lb bench bars, 2 TSS combo racks, 2 bench platforms (dynabody & elitefts), multiple specialty bars (ssb, rack able camber, GCB, marrs, McDonald bar, multiple Swiss/football and American camber bars, fat bars, axels). 3 power racks, enough chains (10+), dedicated married bands (eltieffs/westside), more bands, yoke, stones, farmers handles, mb power center.

Then there’s the lat tower, dual cross over stack, smith machine, leg press, ghr, multiple reverse hypers, belt squat, reverse curl, db up to 150,...

I stared coming to this gym last year and I love it. The gym has great equipment and its always clean. The community in this gym is very welcoming and the owners Ray and Morgan are very preset for their costumers and are supper nice and helpful with whatever you need.

I stared training with one of their coaches Chuck Simons for a bit after my lower back pain was ruining my life and let me tell you he helped me completely get rid of the pain through strength training and also helped me condition for partner acrobatic which has made a significant impact on all my skills. Chuck is supper knowledgeable and will meet you where you are at no matter your skill level. If you're looking to recover from an injury, or condition for a sport or just simply want to get strong I would highly recommend working with Chuck.

I recently stared working with Nicole Holstein for more of a body building/ aesthetic approach and she has also been amazing! she is supper sweet and also incredibly knowledgeable at both body building and power lifting, she has also helped me a lot with gaining more knowledge about my nutrition and how to go about eating in relation to my fitness goals.

I love this gym and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to work out. oh and their new location is...
