We loved it here ❤ Absolutely beautiful place for the pups. We have a chihuahua and pit bull and they both had a great time. Every time we have been there everyone else who was there had really sweet dogs and everyone kept a good eye on their dogs. It's a great way to let your dogs get some energy out and a good way for you to meet and socialize with other dog owners in the area. We live in the historic neighborhood and it is within walking distance from our house. One of my favorite features of the park, other than it being HUGE, is the fact that it has a double entrance fence. You can't let another dog out while coming in or when you leave, because when you come in of course all the other dogs come to sniff your dog and it can be difficult to leash or unleash. They also have balls and rubber toys that belong to the community so you don't have to bring toys to play with if you don't want to. They offer the dogs water as well, they have a tall water fountain for the big dogs and small one for the little pups.... its actually so cute. There are so many trees in the fence which not only creates a wonderful amount of shade but also gives the dogs things to Mark territory on. My dogs seem to love the trees to pee on the most. The trees also are a great thing if you want to bring a hammock to put up which I see people do a lot. Then there are also benches and a swinging bench for people to sit on. Back to how big the place is. It most definitely is the largest size dog park I have seen. It's not a dinky grass area with a fence around it. I was shocked by the size of the park when we first went! And it made me so happy that I have a space to take my dogs that they can enjoy. Honestly without the dog park I would enjoy walking them around the pond that is beside the park but it's so nice to have a spot in the neighborhood that I can take the leash off and allow them to do what they want because we do not have a fence around our yard. It also allows the dogs an opportunity to meet and socialize with other animals which I believe is important for dogs and their...
Read moreFenced in area with safe dual entry. Dogs can run loose or on a leash within the park. It's very wooded with some low spots which can get muddy if it's been went out. Not particularly well groomed, very natural setting.
there is a water fountain there but you should bring your own water in case it is broken. Plus it can get rather muddy around the water fountain with all the dogs drinking there.
dogs can run a fair distance from their owners, so they should be able to follow voice commands at the ready. Some dogs that I noticed in there are a little too aggressive, so you should watch out for that. Probably would not recommend bringing small dogs they are due to the many large dogs running around.
there is a very nice little pain there with a walking area that you could bring your dog around if you'd like to do that instead. Ample parking and lots of places for dogs to be...
Read moreA great space with plenty of room for the dogs to run and play, especially big dogs who need that space. The terrain is fun, with plenty of tall trees for shade. I does need a lot more benches and seating, and the parking is extremely limited, especially considering how popular and busy the playground next door and trail can be. My biggest complaint is not with the park itself but with other dog-owners and their lack of courtesy and respect for a shared public space; too many people were not cleaning up after their dogs right away or at all. There was A LOT of dog waste just left all over the park. We had to spend quite some time cleaning my dogs paws and our shoes, too. Maybe another can't-miss dog waste station needs to be put right in the very middle for all the lazy owners to see and use. Hopefully, that won't be a regular occurrence, or I won't...
