During my most recent visit, I only stopped at the Allegheny Observatory to look for the comet. That area is quite nice, and away from so of the light pollution you get from other areas in the city. As for the park, the walking and running trails are good. They're on the main roads through the park, but there is plenty of room for you and vehicles. When I last visited the park, some of the newly paved streets were already cracking and splitting. I think more maintenence needs to go into possibly stabilizing ground shifting to keep the roads and trails safe for everyone. Despite that, there is a lot of green space there (duh, it's a park), which is good. Wildlife can be seen rummaging through the grass and bushes, and flittering among the branches of the trees. It is a very nice park that's quiet for being in the city. Once you're deeper, it won't feel like you're in the...

Trails are more off the beaten path then any of the other Major City Parks. A little more Gritty Then Frick & Schenley Park. If you're looking for a Calm Walk/Hike/Run/ Ride in the Woods this your place not ever too busy unless there's Events on the Weekends. Really Peaceful on the Trails never too many people on them! As the Ranger says it's Always a Beautiful Day at Riverview Park! Love that Lady. I just wish the Trails were kept as taken care of as the other Parks. I recently took it upon myself to clean one of the closed Trails to show a little Love to a Place that brings me soOoooo much Joy & for others to Enjoy who go on the Trails. Even though the Trails of the Park need a little TLC the rest of the Park is Wonderful! Literally My Favorite Place in the City, Something...

We arrived at park at about 11:00 AM and were told that part of the park would be closed for filming of the Netflex series Mindhunters. We had to find parking on the street outside the park it was a nice street with older homes. We were disappointed that we could not go to the Allegheny Observatory. We were able to hike the trails in the wooded part of the park. The trails were easy to moderate the day was cool and it was cooler in the woods. We enjoyed the hike, their were not many people on the trails. The other visitors in the park and the staff we came in contact with seamed friendly. The only negative the trails could be marked more clearly, but it would be hard to get lost in the park. It was a nice experience in a park in the City...

Riverview Park offers amazing views and peaceful spots to relax, with plenty of trails and pavilions nestled into the woods. It’s a nice place to escape to in the city. The scenery is nice but not breathtaking. It’s a good place for a quiet day outdoors. Do note that you cannot see the river from the park very well as the title may suggest. However, be cautious if visiting closer to sunset, as there are sometimes suspicious vehicles and people around. Additionally, the roads in the park are in rough shape—bumpy and poorly maintained. In some spots, the road even looks like it’s falling off the cliff, so drive carefully. In regard to the other city parks, Schenley, Frick, and Highland Parks are all better in my eyes.

My church hosted our annual picnic here. More than a hundred people came to eat and play games together. It was a fun day! We rented the activities pavilion for our picnic. It has a full-size kitchen to store food and drinks, a lot of tables and chairs, and a bathroom attached to it. There's a large open field next to the pavillion, where church members did field games like rinning races, three-legged races, and volleyball. My main criticism is the condition of the bathroom. They should have cleaned the bathroom ahead of time. It was filthy! But otherwise, we were happy with the pavillion, the playground next to it, and the open field of grass for field activities.
