We just recently got married here in September. Let me start off by saying our ceremony and reception went beautifully. It was a perfect day. But it was not worth the stress this place put us through at all prior to. We signed the contract back in February of 2021 I believe. We wanted to wait a year due to covid. Within this year of planning, we went through 3 coordinators. Which was frustrating. When we made the meeting with our first coordinator, there were things that weren’t discussed or made clear that I wish we would have known about before we signed. Pricing was a big one. We were not prepared for the pricing in its entirety. In about September of 2021 we were assigned our second coordinator. There was no given reason other than we were getting a new coordinator. She was ok to work with, but very difficult to get a hold of and get responses from. While working with her, we also worked with Paige who is in charge of catering. She provided a quote for the food that was way out of our price range. We then told her we would be using and outside vendor because the price was just to high. She informed me shortly after that we were not able to do so. That we weren’t aloud to bring in outside catering, to only use Jorgensen. That they made this change in the contract in 2020. We were never aware of this. When we met with our first coordinator, she asked us if we were going to use Jorgensen catering or an outside vendor. At the time we thought it best to use theirs because it was easier. Clearly that was not the case. Paige was able to make a menu for us that was I suppose more affordable than the other. But still extremely expensive. We were extremely stressed out. There was no point in looking for another venue, because we had already put thousands of dollars down to this place. That we weren’t going to get back. So we just did what we could with the tremendous help of our family. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to get married at this venue. Then about 2-3 months prior, we were assigned our 3rd coordinator. Her name was Evin Moss, she was amazing to work with. And I know none of this was her fault, meaning our experience. She made the last few months of this stressful year, less stressful. Another thing that was stressful was gaining access to the venue. We couldn’t get access to the venue until 1pm on the day of our wedding. Because they do tours/welcome visits on wedding days as well. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Our ceremony was at 4pm, we had such little time to get ready. We couldn’t even drop items off the day before. We had to haul everything. Evin did try and get us access, she told us we could drop items off at 11:30am the day of, but by then, me and my girls were all getting hair, etc done. And the guys were off getting ready as well. We did everything off site except makeup because we wouldn’t have time to get ready if we started at 1pm. Overall, I think they need to be more vocal about their contract, make aware of the important factors, that we were not aware of, and do more for their customers. We were able to negotiate some things with them, but overall, not worth the stress. If you choose this venue, just be sure to get every little bit of detail possible before signing a contract. There were things I believe that weren’t said on purpose. To get us to sign. I believe our day went perfect only because of Evin. She is the definition of a good wedding coordinator. The rest did not set the example we thought we would see. Unfortunately, would not recommend this venue because of the stress it caused us, and them not doing much to help for...
Read moreWhat can I say about Jorgensen farms? Well, first of all this place is absolutely stunning. The reason why we did not choose to go with this place is that the number for everything (food and florals) are not calculated upfront during our tour. You only know the cost of your day. So what is on the paper they provide during the tour and the estimated cost you will be paying are two different things. Meaning, you really do not know how much you are paying until you are locked into a contract. There are several different contracts to consider if you choose to proceed: florals (you don’t have to utilize), catering, and the barn house on the property (don’t have to use as well, but they sell it to you). We felt sketched out by how many documents we would have to sign. Anyways for cost it could potentially keep on adding up. We did not feel comfortable, signing our names to something that we didn’t know the full capability of.
In addition to that, we visited Jorgensen Farms about six years ago when my fiancé and I were entertaining the idea of getting married. We met with Deb back then and she was very dismissive. She reminds me of the sales associate at Louis Vuitton who do not like to assist someone if they are not of a certain caliber. Fast forward to present day her attitude was roughly the same and a little bit better. She asked me about where my fiancé and I lived. I provided a general vicinity and she proceeded to ask more questions. My mother was attending the tour as well and she asked where my mother lived. I’m not sure if she thinks this is good small talk but this is completely invasive. She also made the comment that she was surprised that we arrived on time. She was late.
Deb is knowledgeable about the property and can sell a vision. However, she put a bad taste in my mouth prior to starting the tour and therefore we had no interest in proceeding...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding reception at The Gardens on a Saturday evening in July. It was THE BEST! We worked with Evin as our planner, and she truly made our event perfect. We worked with Mandi at Jorgensen Floral for our flowers which also came together more beautifully than we ever could have imagined. The food at Jorgensen is incredible, and the appetizers specifically are still being talked about by our guests. No matter what element of the reception we were planning, we were given a great amount of time and attention by the staff at Jorgensen. They heard us as we shared our vision, and they went above and beyond in delivery. Evin made sure every little detail was ready to go before the big day. The venue is stunning and very clean; the staff worked tirelessly all night to keep the venue in tip top shape from start to finish. We loved how Jorgensen invited us to the property throughout the planning process. Specifically, they put together a food tasting evening that gave us a sneak peek at our wedding day. The tasting included drinks, appetizers, food, desserts, and Jorgensen florals. It was such a nice touch and left us feeling even more excited for the big day. Something that stood out to us while venue shopping was how Jorgensen does more than just the wedding day. Last Thanksgiving, my in-laws ordered a turkey and sides from Jorgensen. On the weekends, my mom and I enjoy visiting the farmer's market on the property (try their soups - WOW!). Years ago, I used to go to Jorgensen's market stand at the Worthington Farmers' Market on Saturdays to pick up their gorgeous peonies. It was just so fun for everything to come full-circle for our wedding. WE LOVE...
