I have supported this farm for many years, sadly I can no longer do this. Over the years there has certainly been a turn away from providing top quality produce to the area and more of a focus on widening profit margins. Produce that used to last for weeks now lasts days or even hours at times. For the price they charge, it is often not worth it. Recently, their decision to allow PYO strawberries to continue when the fruit is rotten from rain is pretty awful. I personally picked berries that went bad within the same day, these were the supossed good berries they told me were still pickable. In the end I paid $5.50 for a quart of rotten strawberries that took me a hour to pick, and were rotten by 8pm. I ate maybe 4 of them and my wife maybe had 2 or 3. I shudder to think of the money wasted by other people I saw there who were going through the effort to pick full 8 quart trays. A lot of people...

Jen berated us for picking in the row beside ours and made a scene in front of other families who were also scrounging to find a few good berries. As the surrounding adults and children watched in disbelief, we apologized and moved back to the row she pointed at. She then proceeded to broadcast our mistake to the other women working there and we were further chastised during the checkout process. I understand everyone has a bad day, but there was no reason to treat us that way for an honest mistake. Iâm happy that I did not bring any of my children with me because no one should be subjected to that kind...
