Felton's Meat & Produce Market Listen… if you’re judging Felton’s Meat & Produce Market by the outside, you’re doing yourself a disservice. From the street, it might look like a run-down hostel where a zombie apocalypse started but step inside and boom! you’re teleported into an international grocery paradise right in the heart of Plant City, Florida.
I’ve been coming here my whole life, and trust me ,Felton’s is like that grandma who keeps $100 bills in old cookie tins. It looks humble, but it’s secretly holding all the gold. You want Japanese snacks? Got ‘em. African spices? Yep. Caribbean seasonings that’ll make you question every meal you’ve ever cooked? Absolutely. The sky’s the limit in this place it’s like a United Nations of food packed into a single, unassuming building.
The meat section? Top-tier. You can smell the freshness from the parking lot (in a good way). The prices are so good you’ll start side-eyeing Publix like, “I’ve been paying HOW MUCH for chicken thighs?”
And the staff pure family vibes. Everyone knows your face, your favorite cut of meat, and probably your grandma’s collard green recipe. It’s not just a market, it’s a vibe.
So yeah, don’t let the outside fool you. Felton’s might look like a spot where Scooby-Doo would investigate a mystery, but inside? It’s a cultural wonderland full of flavor, good people, and the best deals in Plant City.
If you haven’t been, you’re missing out on a Florida treasure. Felton’s isn’t just a market it’s...
Read moreI have been coming here since I moved out on my own almost 15 years ago. It is always my first stop for my grocery shopping days. You cannot beat their prices on meats and they also have a great variety of produce, and many other items that are a great price that you can’t find anywhere else. Their meat has always been great quality and I have never had an issue and I always buy various cuts of chicken, beef & pork. They have great deals and this is a place I have always gone out of my way to shop at, no matter where I was living at the time. I can buy enough meat here that will last me over a month, without spending hundreds of dollars. If you’re looking to try to thoroughly budget and plan your grocery shopping, to stretch you dollar as much as possible, while still buying a plentiful amount of fresh food, this is as the place to go! The staff is friendly, and the cashiers do a great job getting people checked out and count the door when they’re really busy. I am having to move out of state, 3.5 hours away soon and will truly miss this place. I’m going to be lost without Felton’s at my new home! It’s helped me keep delicious cooked meals on the table every night for nearly...
Read moreI have been doing business with Felton's for 60+ years now, way before any of the other supermarkets came to the area. I always pick up Southern Sausage here because no other place carries my brand. Packaged chicken is always good quality and priced well. I can also find other Southern ingredients here that again are not carried at the other supermarkets.
One thing that customers need to keep in mind is that most of their Beef is fresh. So, some of the larger cuts tend to be a little tough. A good pressure cooker and a few minutes under the heat and just about any cut will fall off the bone tender with a good flavor.
Update: 10/25/23 I have been buying some of the beef from Mexico, the Porterhouse cuts, and T-bone cuts are surprisingly really good when cooked on the grill. I am not a fan of Angus beef as, for some reason, it upsets my stomach, so other breeds of beef work best for my family and I. I also have been trying some of their 80/20 ground chuck with good results. I usually buy 93/7 or 97/3 from another store, but I wanted to try it and see if I could save a couple of bucks a pound. I will let you know how this...
