I had so much fun visiting Parkesdale Market today! Located in plant city it’s a great place to visit in your in central Florida! There’s plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to purchase. They also have herbs and vegetables to plant. I was there to purchase bare root strawberry plants to grow in my garden. The strawberry shake is something I highly recommend, it was so delicious!

My friend and I decided to stop by here as we were visiting due to the Strawberry Festival. We were not disappointed. Though the line was a little long for the desserts, it took less than 20 minutes to get to the front and less than 3 minutes to get our order. We ordered the famous strawberry shortcake with ice cream with the strawberry milkshake. The milkshake did not disappointed and it was so refreshing and creamy. The strawberries were very sweet and the ice cream was creamy and delicious. The mountain of whip cream on top was perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the cake. It was really dry almost like cornbread but I did not know if that was suppose to be how it usually is since this was my first time having it. The market had a variety of beautiful plants. The plants looked so well taken care of and I thought that the strawberry photo booth in the back was adorable. All the produce was mostly fresh and if they were not they were offered at a lower price. Everything was priced decently. My friend and I were dying to take a box of strawberries home but couldn't since we can't leave them in the car. The weather was so nice the day we went and was very windy. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area. Tips: if you can't finding parking there is a little office next door with a lot more parking. Service dogs are allowed but there is a sign that says dogs aren't but I did see multiple people bring their dogs so I do not know. I would stop by the early morning and also the desserts are served January to April.

Given all the attention this place has gotten over the years, including detailed stories in the Tampa Bay Times about the history of Parkesdale, we decided to give it a try. My son and I headed out on a Monday afternoon to get the famed strawberry shortcake and a strawberry shake over his spring break.

It is a bit of a drive from Tampa (30 to 45 minuted depending on I-4 traffic) and parking was in short supply, especially considering we were there at 4:00 pm on a Monday afternoon, but that speaks to the popularity of the place.

We got in line and ordered the regular strawberry shortcake and a strawberry shake. They were basically pre-made given the long lines. The strawberries had already been cut up and placed on the cake, they just added the mountain of whip cream on the top, then handed us a shake from the fridge.

We found a place in the seating area and tested the famed foods. The strawberry shortcake was okay, but not amazing. The cake started a bit dry, but within about 5 minutes it had turned into mush. The juices from the strawberries had mixed into the cake. The cake started to lose its consistency and eventually turned into a liquid. The strawberries were fine, but not amazing, and the whip cream was bland and flavorless. I'd give the strawberry shortcake a 2 out of 5.

The strawberry shake, on the other hand, was actually very flavorful. There were thick chunks of strawberry. The shake was thick and sweet - perhaps a little too sweet. But, overall, I'd say this is way better than any shake you'd get at McDonalds or Burger King. Solid 4 out of 5 on the shake.

The ambiance was fine. There were a lot of people there but it was still relatively quiet. It seemed like this was one of those things that people arrange to do as a tourist activity, but is probably not something people do all the time.

We looked briefly at the other produce on sale. It seemed fairly reasonably priced, but wasn't an amazing deal over what I could find at Publix or Sprouts, so we didn't bother. I was tempted to buy some preserves, but I make my own strawberry jam, so I opted not to.

Overall, my son was correct that he could experiment a few times and come up with a better strawberry shortcake recipe. The strawberry shortcake was mediocre. The shake was a solid win. We went. We probably won't go back. Interesting. Perhaps memorable. But not something we'll...

The Best Strawberry Onions – A Taste Worth Remembering! Nearly 48 years ago, I first experienced the incredible flavor of strawberry onions while visiting Florida with my parents. These onions quickly became a cherished delicacy for our family, though we could only enjoy them during our trips to Florida. My parents loved them, and so did I. After many years and the passing of my parents, the memory of those sweet, flavorful onions remained with me. I often reminisced about the delicious sandwiches and entrées we enjoyed, enhanced by the unique taste of strawberry onions. In recent years, I realized how much I missed their incredible flavor and decided to track down the best source for them. Using ChatGPT, I researched where to find the finest strawberry onions in Florida. Parkesdale Farm Market emerged as the top recommendation. I placed an order online and, within a week, received my shipment. What can I say? Absolutely delicious! The quality, care, and exceptional sweetness of these onions exceeded my expectations. Since then, I have placed another large order and shared them with others who had never experienced their incredible flavor. If you’re looking for the best strawberry onions, you can’t go wrong with Parkesdale Farm Market. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is evident in every order. If I ever have the opportunity to visit Florida again, a stop at Parkesdale Farm Market will be a must! Their impressive selection of products, available both online and in-store, truly sets them apart as a family-owned business that prioritizes excellence. Kind regards, Todd B. ...

4 stars for the food , not service .Visiting Family in plant city and couldn't pass up a chance to take my kids to have a taste of the “best” strawberry short cake in town . While i was in line i noticed everyone buying the strawberry milkshakes and thought , must be worth it, why not try it out and see. My luck , on the way to the table while trying to balance the tray, hold my one year old in one arm, and navigate my two year old, the shake dropped on the ground as soon as we reached the table. Surprisingly the guest sitting around us immediately jumped to assist and were so friendly and helpful . One man - a true gentlemen went to seek help from nearby staff, he requested a new shake for me. I was really surprised at how kind everyone was ; Unfortunately, the Supervisor /manager ( not sure of his title) was not as nice as the guest and seemed irritated with the man who requested another shake for me. The manager even refused to hand me my shake , maybe he was just having a bad day ( i am unsure) . Nonetheless, It was very awkward and he acted this way in front of all the guest , horrible customer service . Which was sad because everyone else was so kind . Despite the Managers sour attitude the short cake was good, my daughter loved it , BUt that Milkshake was what topped it all . OMG soooooooooo delicious !!! I absolutely loved it, I wish I could thank the guest who went out his way to help , He was such a light! As for the supervisor , I am disappointed and Unsure of why he treated me with such a condescending attitude , maybe he was just busy or had a bad day… whatever the reason , he needs...
