When our children visit this is the preferred park for our grandchildren. They don't mind walking over a mile to get there. It has fenced-in toddler-appropriate climbing toys and swings. Mounded terrain (which toddlers see as mountains) and gravel walking/running path alongside the canal. Restrooms. Off-street parking for cars. Half-court basketball. One tennis court. One pickleball court. Painted hopscotch and four-square areas. In spite of the name there aren't a lot of Jacaranda trees but there are lots of beautiful shade trees. On most days I ride my bike past this park several times and I've never seen it overcrowded, although it is well subscribed. Jacaranda Lakes is well maintained by the City of Plantation. Read moreMost of the renovations done to the court and picnic area are better. The playground and basketball hoop are in a safer area away from the parking cars and trees. The tennis court now looks brand new. The old playground space is now a quiet picnic area.
The gravel walk/exercise path could use a fresh layer put down. Or else something like rubber to make it easier or those on bikes. I'm not sure if some of those exercise bars are safe to use, so we don't bother. (They've been there at least 22 years).
