Usually enjoy my visits to this park, but after today I am extremely disappointed. Since it was the 4th of July, the park was extremely packed to the point the cops arrived and shut down the entrance. I came with a family who has a son with SEVERE disabilities and is wheelchair bound and cannot even talk. We did not know they would close the entrance so this family left their son with us and went to go get some more food for their son. They have a handicap permit and needed it especially for their son. The cops did not allow them to enter at all even though their son was down there and was in a wheelchair. The cops then made this family park their car on the side of the street and walk all the way down the path to get their son and walk all the way up pushing a big wheelchair in the heat simply because the cops did not allow them to enter. Really feel like they should have had different regulations for this.

I even asked politely and attempted to explain the situation, but the cops did not listen and simply yelled they were not going to do something just for one car (even though this car was coming to pick up their son and bring him things he needs).

The rangers did no longer seem to have control, but instead the cops since they were walking around and inspecting everything, but I am really sad that this poor family had to walk all the way down and struggle with bringing their son (who is not little) up the hill entrance to leave.

I hope this does not happen again, but who knows. Might have to go again and see...

Hello again. Again, my review are for parents considering taking a stroller. My wife and I have been checking out East Bay Regional parks with our one and three year old. We have been using our GT double stroller.

Okay, big parking lot so that’s a plus. We started our hike behind the big Interpretive Pavilion. The top trail is really really rocky. Take the route to the lower paths as soon as you can. It’s still dirt / gravel but 100% better than the top trail. Your kids will thank you.

There is a combination of sun and shade from the big trees. May be two inclines but nothing like my other review on the Castle Ridge Trail. This trail is totally doable with a stroller. I’m not sure if we will come back since we have done longer and nicer paved trails.

The beach was closed and the park was pretty empty. We saw awesome homes right a long the trail. One home was solid this month for 3.25 million dollars! That’s insane but wouldn’t it be cool to have a regional park as an extension to your backyard. One could dream… or move...

Really wanted to like this place. But I just couldn’t get past all of the poop the geese leave. The place is littered with poop EVERYWHERE in the grass, near the picnic tables and worse, all along the edge of the swimming area. We have a young child and would mostly be hanging out very close to shore and I couldn’t imagine him swimming near all of that mess. That was our biggest turn off. You could easily mistake the poop for small twigs or broken little pieces of branches. They don’t look like typical bird poop. It was honestly disgusting seeing it along the shore and the flies and bugs in the poop. After that we left. We maybe stayed 30 mins. It has a lot of potential. To top it off, there’s a notice that the water does not meet safety standards and to swim...

Average suburban park. A few nice picnic areas and a small lake based upon a quarry resulting in views of just the surrounding high banks, a quarry operation across the lake from the picnic grounds and the busy Stanley Boulevard to the north. The East Bay Regional Park has fees for: entrance (varies by type of vehicle), fishing permit, boat launch fees (varies by type), dog fee (waived for guide/service dogs). Note that celebrating the EBRP anniversary the park is free of all fees until the end of 2019 on Fridays. You can rent boats here. Swimming in designated areas only. As of this posting date the trail around the southern part of the lake is closed for repairs and therefore there is very little area for fishing on the lake shore.
