I visit Boyce multiple times a week to go jogging or walking with my dog Champ.
No complaints about the park itself, very clean and taken care of. And I don't want to seem like an annoying person on here. BUT for dog owners, please try your very best to control your furry friends. In the past month I've had 2 incidents that were pretty scary.
I had a large dog who had a leash on but his owner let the leash go. Immediately he bolted for my buddy Champ and attempted to bite him several times. He nipped him once or twice and made Champ yip. If it wasn't for Champ being quick, I believe it could of been much worse. It took several attempts for the owner to restrain his dog after falling several times. I was going to grab the dog but it seemed extremely aggressive.
I was jogging and saw a group of guys and gals walking a German Shepherd. I attempted to run around them to put a good bit of distance between me and the dog without running into oncoming traffic. As I was coming around them, their dog jumped up on its back legs and latched onto my arm. Thankfully I was immediately able to break free and only had some light marks from the animals teeth. He must of been playing because he could of done some serious damage.
Please have control and awareness of your dogs. They will show you plenty of warning signs when preparing to act out. Be mindful that just because your dog is sweet and playful with you or would never hurt you, doesn't mean they are the same way with strangers...
Read moreI truly love Boyce Park. It is of a decent size and the trails are fun to walk. The trails are shared with mountain bikers so you need to pick the right times to avoid them. I usually go early in the morning and don't encounter any mountain bikers but around 11 they start getting more frequent. The trails are marked but need to pay attention since it's easy to miss them but the trails are very well marked and visible. If you download the trail map you'll see that it's very detailed and matches the actual trails perfectly which can't be said for other parks. I walk the trails with my dog and I am always on alert for bikers but if you don't want to deal with it there is a nice open gravel road that goes around the park. The park is very well kept and if you want a quiet hike without many people I suggest you walk the hardest trails (still pretty easy to walk) further away from any parking lot. There is a dog park near the tennis courts and it can get pretty busy during nice days but definitely less used during winter and colder days. There are pavilions scattered in the main area with parking along with ski slopes. Definitely a nice park to spend some...
Read moreWe are renting this place out for my daughters bridal shower. With the ability to have liquor it is $490 which is a bit pricey but you get the whole building more or less. There is so much room it's unbelievable. The top floor has many tables and chairs with windows that look out on the ski slope. There is a kitchen with a refrigerator and sink that can be used. The refrigerator only had two shelves though so I can see that being a problem with the food we need to bring. There are then steps that go downstairs that lead to the outside patio where you will find many picnic tables and have space for outdoor games like cornhole, ladder golf etc. They do get booked up. We wanted a Saturday in August but had to settle for a Sunday. There are ceiling fans but no air conditioning. Visiting this place in February there wasn't a problem but I am desperately hoping with the shower being in August that it is not too hot in there. The tables here though are the long banquet tables. Keep that in mind if you wanted to use nice...
