Love this place, it feels like walking into a beautiful secret. Only a few humans and the seals know. Once on the beach, take a right and there’s actually quite a stretch of beach to wander.

The water has quite a few smooth rocks and stones so bring swimming / walking shoes of some kind if you’ll be in the water. Not much shade on the beach. The pleasant but lengthy path from parking lot to beach is, like Sleeping Beauty’s castle grounds, overgrown with poison ivy, so do take care. The drive in from the street to the parking area overlooking the water is rough: the road is not at all maintained and, depending on rain, you may be driving through a literal shallow pond. You can however park near the street and there is a walking path from there.

If you decide not to take the hill path down to the beach and instead turn around and head back to your car, it will still have been a lovely walk...

Amazing rocky beach. We were the only people there. Lots of seals swimming around close to the beach in the shallow water. We found lots of snails and crabs in the tidepools. The whole family had fun on the beach. With that said. You need to walk about a half mile from the parking lot to the beach. The trail is often rather narrow and there is poison ivy EVERYWHERE. Like, everywhere.... It was immediately beside the trail for the whole hike walk. We were super careful and made it without an issue, but it's definitely a risk. We carried our youngest kid to help keep the short legs out of the danger zone. Take your time, keep your eyes open, and you'll be ok. If leaves of three, let it be! (If not for the poison ivy, I'd...

Very good place to get out into nature. Recently I visited and instead of hiking directly to the beach, I took a path that wound through a large open field and eventually came to the road leading to my final destination. The beach was extremely windy, so I followed the marsh trail instead parallel to the shore and came out at the salt pond area at low tide. What a wonderful place to shoot photos! I had the place to myself for over an hour. Highly recommend this spot photographers and...

Follow the path to see harbor seals! But I would not recommend swimming (hello shark bait 👋). The Ellisville Harbor Park trail in Plymouth, MA is less than a mile to the harbor and mostly shaded. This is a great hike to do with kids. Save, like and follow for more New England travel adventures. 🙏 #ellisvilleharborstatepark #plymouth #plymouthma #southshorema #thingstodowithkids #massachusetts #seals #harborseals #kidshike #kidstrail #familyfun #massachusettsparks #followme #familyadventures #travel #beaches #destinations #itiswhatitis
