Definitely should not be labeled as a resort. The drawn out map they have on the site for booking is deceiving as the campsites are small and right on top of eachother, and the size does not accomodate 2 vehicles even though they make you pay $5 a day for an extra vehicle. There was a steep drop off the end of our site and the neighboring ones and they knew I was booking with children. The water and electrical are shared for neighboring sites which would be fine if they didn't book someone right next to us, especially when the 2 sites to the opposite side where we would not have had to share water and electric were empty all weekend. With Covid I would think they would want to spread people out more and avoid shared amenities as much as possible. The water is also difficult to get to as we had to walk down a rocky slope into the neighboring campsite to access ours and couldn't even use the one on our side because no one has trimmed the plants back in months. The bathrooms are filthy and not cleaned often or properly, we stayed a weekend and only saw the bathroom cleaned once where a young man dumped some chemical in each toilet and sprayed the floor with a hose. Also there is a constant stream of water leaking from somewhere across the bathroom floor. I understand that bugs are difficult to keep out but there were cobwebs and well developed spider webs with eggs all over the bathroom. Behind the toilets were black with grime and the showers were mostly unusable. Everything needs an update, they just keep adding layers of paint on the building where it comes off and some spots are completely ignored. The plastic toys at the playground were safe enough but not stationary and the old metal stuff was covered in rust and some parts were broken. I only met one member of staff, a young teenage boy in the office who seemed unhappy and gave me no information about the place or rules or anything really. They had him checking people in and running the store, which was rarely open and mostly barren with empty shelves. On the website they claim to have 24 hour supervision but the carts that may have been staff stop driving around street dark. Barely anyone wore a mask in common areas and the only small signs for Covid regulations, stating only to stay 6 feet apart, were at the office and bathrooms and most often tipped over. The people in the site above us were drunk and rowdy until past 2 a.m. both nights, also were walking around in the empty site next to ours in the middle of the night. On Saturday the office had a delivery of picnic tables at 7 a.m. which was loud and surprising to wake up to, which was also followed by the sounds of a forklift moving them to the basketball court, which was unaccesable all weekend as well. Overall I would not recommend this place for anyone with children or anyone who wants a...
Read moreDefinitely would not recommend coming here, price is too high for what you get. I went online to book our sites, when I found some of the information wasnt listed like max length of sites for some of the sites I decided to call. When calling I spoke with a lady who gave me attitude telling me to just do it online. I expressed my issues and she still said to do it online she cant help. I ended up booking myself and 2 other campers. During this time and the time of our stay we ended up upgrading our camper and wanted to make sure the site we had would be big enough for the new camper. When I called this time the lady was nicer (Id assume this was Tina - since my experiences with Tina have been great!) anyways they moved our site as the original site was apparently too narrow. When we arrived the site we moved to was actually smaller and too narrow for our slide out. We called immediately and Tina was able to move us to a different site thankfully there were 2 sites available as the other camper next to us would not have fit in their site either. Since being there the campsites are just hard to get into and everything is very outdated. The water issues are the worst, most sites water smell horrible even with brand new filters, the water pressure is terrible and 3 times there was no water coming out. The first time was due to lightning, but the last two times there were no specified reason, just terrible pressure- ive never heard of a campsite using a well, and maybe thats why. The only other complaint I would have is the sites arent groomed very well which isnt a big deal, personally I hate the sand and tiny rocks everywhere but if you do come maybe bring a weed wacker as we needed to trim our campsite for tickling grass spots, also make sure you have a 4wd vehicle as the sand is soft and hilly causing us to use 4wd a few times. Oh and extra levels and a shovel as the leveling blocks just sunk into the sandy ground making it difficult to level. Lastly the bugs (mainly ants) were horrendous!
So I guess long story short the only good thing about this campsite was Tina. Everything else and everyone...
Read moreHave been coming here several times a year since I was born 21 years ago. My parents had come here years and years before that, even before my sister was born 25 years ago. So this has been our family getaway for over 30 years. I know most of the old-timers that own stationary campers like my parents. Like someone had said in a review previously, it's like a "great big family". When I was growing up I made some long-time friends with the other younger girls at the campground. It's large and spacious but still safe for ids to run around and play. Two parks with swings, seesaws, monkey-bars, sandboxes, and big slides. A nice little pond for swimming and fishing/boating is on site. Or, there is a beach that is within 10 min walking distance from the entrance of the campground that is absolutely beautiful. Private beach that is an animal sanctuary so you cannot park there, but you can drive over to unload your car and then park in the entrance of the campground and walk down the path over to it. It's absolutely beautiful and usually only has a few people there at any time. Right next to a big cranberry bog that is beautiful when they are growing. Sanded trails for nice walks and bike rides. There is also a horse-shoe pit, a volleyball net, and a basketball hoop. If you have kids I recommend for sure. If you are an adult that likes having a few beers and singing karaoke, or kicking back and having a fire in one of the fireplaces that are included in each campsite, I would also recommend. And don't worry if you have too much to drink and can't get to he nearby grocery store; there's a little store in the admissions building that sells snacks, firewood, food, drinks, fishing supplies, etc. in case you forgot something or would like some ice cream. Definitely try this place out!!! I can't imagine my childhood without having come here. Great for adults and...
