The unplanned stop on our offroad riding trip but it was so worth it. Our trip out on the trails took us to the mine and we thought we would just take a quick look around in the museum. Gosh the rich history in the museum was worth the stop. While there our group decided to hang around for the next tour, and boy that was the best idea.    Read moreWe tried 2 years in a row to do this. First year closed due to flooding. No problem understand year. In 2025 we went & were told running a little behind. We got there around 11 & next time was 12. No problem! Almost 2 hours later they had us wait because they knew there was a big group coming. I said there is a reason we didn't get to do it. They did refund our money but that was bad on their part. They should let people know about that they need good walking shoes & jackets. People came in flip flops & shorts.    Read moreI’ve visited the mine several times over the last 15 years and have now taken the tour twice. This last time, Dale, the tour guide, was amazing. You can take a walking tour or riding tour. You will see are hear what mining was all about and what the minors faced.
If you’ve visited this place before, go back and experience all the work that was put in to make the tour and museum better. There is now a restaurant at the museum.
