Trailside Tavern — Restaurant in Pocahontas

If you are on the fence about trying this restaurant… Think no more!! it is so good! The atmosphere is friendly, the food is amazing, and the service is top-notch. I finally remembered to snap some pics of our food for this review. I’m no food magazine, photographer, but trust me - it tasted even better than it looks.

My husband ordered the chicken bacon ranch pasta bowl. I’m not usually a pasta person, but wow - this dish was delicious! Real bacon, a creamy cheesy sauce (perfect for dipping my tater tots in) and perfectly cooked chicken that was not dry at all.

I went with my favorite, the hive melt burger (AGAIN) The handmade patty was full of flavor and cooked just right. The toasted bun was the perfect bonus touch.

Attention .Do not let the outside looks and location fool you . The excellent service and the food is fantastic. I had one of the best hamburgers in my life I rate it 8 stars of real tasty beef. The chicken wrap my wife said was also unbelievably good and the best she's had in years. French frys were also 4 stars. The potato salad was ok. I liked it but my wife didn't like the spice used in in. So be weary. I highly recommend eating here if not interested in the coal mine or coal museum. Worth the trip for Trailside...
