Krodel Park Campground is managed by Judy and Richard, a lovely couple. Bar none, the friendliest and most helpful campground managers of the only 4 parks I have camped in with the camper (July 2020). This was the maiden voyage of my new-to-me camper, and having only tent camped before the camper, I had ZERO clue not only how to set-up the hookups, but how to empty the tanks when it was time to go. Richard to the rescue. The man did EVERYTHING for me. The patience of a saint through my endless questions, some I asked over and over just to make sure I had it correct. This was not in his job description, but the actions of a gentleman who clearly enjoys helping people. His wife who runs the office was just as friendly and helpful. Information galore. Even gave me her personal cell number should I require assistance after hours. Very little shade, but I lucked out that the site I selected got shade early in the afternoon. The bathhouse is quite dated, but clean. Quiet, friendly, fishing pond, walking trail around the pond, boat launch across the road, quaint small town with lots of history, a 1700 fort, splash park and children's activity area well away from the camp sites, the price was right and best of all: Judy and Richard. I will be back to this campground if Judy and Richard are still the managers. They make this park Thank you Judy. Thank you Richard. (Maria Scully...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Krodel Park Campground and have mixed feelings about my experience. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. Firstly, the campground needs some updates and maintenance. The facilities and amenities seemed a bit outdated and could use some refurbishment. This aspect of the campground left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed.
On the positive side, the staff at Krodel Park Campground were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They were always ready to assist with any questions or concerns, which made the stay more pleasant.
In terms of the campsite's scenery, I found it to be rather sparce (see photos). If you're looking for a campground that offers stunning natural beauty, you might want to explore other options. Unless you have a perimeter RV site, you will not have a firepit. Plus, it is more like row-housing.
Overall, I would recommend Krodel Park Campground primarily for those who are passing through the area and need a convenient place to stay for a night or two. The friendly staff is a definite plus, but if you're seeking a more visually appealing camping experience, you might want to consider other campgrounds...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore making reservations here, I wasnāt sure if this campground was operating because of information I found online. While making the reservation, I talked to a woman on the phone (the owner) and she said it was $25 a night for a full hookup. They only accept cash or check and you pay when you get there. I wasnāt assigned a reservation number but the owner said assured me I had a spot booked and itās just her and her husband that work there. When I got there, I was assigned site 29. Overall, I was looking for something close to downtown Point Pleasant and this was a good fit. There is no wifi and cell service was a little spotty (I had 1-3 bars at times for cell service). Thereās a park with a trail that you can walk or bike around. Thereās also a fort nearby that you can check out. Even though this campground didnāt have all the bells and whistles like some of the other onceās Iāve stayed at, you canāt...
