Awesome new park area. If anyone is a fan of the Raccoon River Park for its beach area and/or the playground area for kids, then you will love this park. There is a great trail area I have yet to check out. The bike trail is the only thing separating the playground and sandy beach area. This area has everything you could want or need. Multiple shelters big and small with picnic tables. Multiple buildings with nice restrooms. I had to drive 45-50 Minutes and it was well worth it.

Peaceful, the trails are great! Many gems await you in this Park! Playground is a must for children! Great place for family picnics, walking your fur baby, playing with kids or grandchildren, boating, and connecting with friends. Swimming is also a great summertime activity.

I never have any luck with fishing but my family enjoys coming here. Great playground, clean facilities, boat rentals, bike rentals, a great weekend getaway.

There are NO outdoor Showers to rinse off which is really strange to not have clean running water to wash off at a disgusting lake. The rental kayacks have nasty moldy mud water in the seat that you have to sit in and boats are full of dirt. They don’t store them upside down so they fill with water and they leave it like that and just rent them out. They don’t clean anything there. The life jackets which they make you bring also are covered in dirt and smell that they leave on the ground. Overpriced rentals and not enjoyable at all. I won’t ever rent anything ever again that you have to sit in mold. It was...

This is the closet thing to a MN lake in the Des Moines area. Lots of access points, plenty of water for sailing, and a picnic/beach area second to none. The rental concession offers everything from pontoon boats to pedal bikes, canoes, kayaks, catamarans, and much more. Kids can play on the incredible wooden fort structure or while away the hours making sand castles. Can't make it to Mn?...
