The Jester natural playscape was fun for the kids. It is a little landscaped area with benches whose main attraction is a little fountain with a pond/pool that the kids can play in. There are natural wood blocks and other things in the water. You can see many buffalo in the fields right next door. Further down there was a separate field with Elk. There was a very nice hike nearby with a wood teepee looking thing in it (see attached pictures). There are also bathroom facilities to use at the playscape. I think Jester park as a whole is a great place for a day hike, picnic, or camping. It is very close to saylorville lake and when the nature center and wellness center open there are quite a few additional activities you can do with the kids.

Nice little park. Wish the Interpretive Center was open....damn COVID. We enjoyed walking a bit and seeing the buffalo and elk was an added bonus. The Playscape area would be a neat place for kids to interact. There is a little lake further in the park and has some good fishing in the spring. Nice places for picnics and get togethers in the shelters as well.

This place is very nice. We saw lots of hummingbirds around the building due to the lady's feeders. We saw a snake in the water from the bridge. The nature center architecture is Frank Lloyd Wright inspired and does not disappoint. We saw a few bison and elk in a pin. We came specifically for the Archery at the rec building. Awesome!

I think it really depends on what you are looking for out of a visit here. The Bison and the Elk were neat to see, but I was hoping for a little more play out of a "natural playscape".

As mentioned, really the only entertainment for the kiddos is a water fountain they can get into and wade around in (bring a towel) and otherwise it's mostly just looking at the way they have the area decorated. I don't really count the trails as part of the playscape. There was a bathroom and a little bit of parking,...

We love taking the kids here. It never seems like the same place because every time we go kids have used their creativity to play in different ways. One day they'll try damming the fountain, then the next time they'll play with rocks and floating wood. The last time we went it had just rained which left pools of water for them to splash around in as well. There needs to be more...
